I know its easy to want to punt Brooks,just ask Hobbo,but to be honest I was on the hype train after his debut and thought ,beauty we are set...BUT he didnt really have a partner that let him do his job,Moses stood over him,Benji was a club icon so Luke let him do most of the work because he didnt want to overshadow a legend that overcalled him most of the time then he had some also rans beside him and had to do a lot of defending as well as having a weak forwards pack reshuffled for ages not laying a good platform for him...
I HONESTLY think that Jacko will be great for Brooks and we will see a far better halfback than what we have seen,dont forget Madge backs him all the time and with Sheens here I reckon he will have a much better year...Im not saying that TS will coach him but I bet he will help and advise him as only Sheens can...just my opinion,I have been with this club long enough to not get to hyped up anymore,let alone on a trial result...

Look at the facts.
Brooks has had some very good players around him in the last 8-9 years. Origin players, Test players. Still no finals footy though.
As stated before, it's not entirely on him but skillful, astute half's win crucial games of footy, guide their team around the park and close the deal with field goals in tight matches.
Brooks doesn't do any of that.
I like the guy as a person, he's not a bighead like Munster, Cronk etc, but he's not a matchwinner. Halfbacks need to be that.

I appreciate your well considered reply - but I can assure you that I am not a blinkered Brooks fan either & have never claimed Brooks to be a world beater but he is an NRL standard half and that can be extremely hard to find.

Seriously the Warriors paid a motza for Nikorima??

So unless we have a proven superior option - letting him go is more of the same - just throwing out the baby with the bath water,
 
To all those who see Madden as the answer - there was one play last night that summed up my concerns over his vision as a halfback.

When Garrick came in from his wing on the 5th - instead of seeing that and adjusting accordingly he still went through with his pre-empted kick that went straight to Garrick who had read the play perfectly.

A half with vision would have adjusted on the run to the change in the defensive line and thrown the cutout to an unmarked Nofoaluma for an easy try.

I am hoping he can develop into a top-shelf NRL half that we have been lacking - but you can't teach vision if it is not there - or speed for that matter.

For the record, I expect us to make the 8 as I never buy into the BS re-build season nonsense.
Having said that, the lack of talented depth we have, in the Covid era where it will be inevitable that players will miss games due to illness, is worrisome.
There will be games this year where we are down on troops and some team is going to give us a touchup we won’t forget.

If only Jackson Hastings could of been there last night to put one on the chin of Cherry Evans. He may have been suspended for the remainder of the season but it would make one of the all time great highlight reels.

Incidentally, I can't stand Titans coach Justin Holbrook, every time I see him he reminds me DCE, are they related?

People like DCE get away with these days, you can't punch anyone, our days are over. Take him on in an Xbox game or give him a tongue lashing on social media more like it.
