Look in my opinion one of themain reasons at the time for the doco was to try and garner support for Madge as the club realized we didn't have the cattle to make the 8 and they understood the calls for his head would come quick and fast fom the fans

And I still support Madge , I can't see another coach out their that is clearly better than him

But he has lost the playing roster ...and unless they plan on dumping 18 members of the current roster ( which I say Hell Yeah to ) he can't continue on

I’m completely speculating but I think he’s lost a couple of the senior guys who should be standing up and leading. Not the players that matter for the future.

If those senior guys aren’t standing up and leading then it’s them who don’t matter to our future.

I wouldn't be writing any player off until Sheens has had the opportunity to work with them.

Playing finals in the first season isn't a statement all coaches make in the interview process, and with good reason.

So you go into a head coach interview and you tell the prospective club - this needs to be a rebuild (another, just after Ivan Cleary started one), and we probably can't make the finals the first season. But please hire me.

Regardless of what is promised or not, making the finals is a minimum benchmark for a new coach, and regardless of whether or not they say it can be done within 12 months or 36 months, they are judged on the actual outcome (if they can actually get themselves into the job in the first place).

I tend to qualify anything that comes from another party. For example "I was told..." or "the papers are saying". Because the problem is you are developing a position, and you are bringing in arguments to support that position.

Things are reported in the press and other things mentioned through the grapevine on social media. Can we verify these details? No. Can I verify any of the things reported in media - for the most part - no. Nearly all news is a leap of faith. We have no idea if the number of COVID cases is accurate or if they're fudging the stats. You have to use your judgment but in the absence of any other facts you often have to take the information available to you.

Did i mention that this was reported at that time in my previous post? No, but should i have to? No. Of course i wasn't there and i'm talking about second hand info as reported at the time.

I asked who the other prospects were. I challenged you if any interviewee for a head coach role would truly tell his prospective employers that he couldn't make the finals with the team he's inherited.

You don't have to verify everything you reference - people can check the reference themselves. That's how it works. But I'm not arguing the semantics of "source reliability" with you, all I wanted to do was confirm that you didn't actually have anything concrete to back up what you were saying about prospective coaches.

Now you are arguing another point entirely - that Madge apparently claimed he could take the 2019 side to the finals, and he didn't. So you are an advocate for sacking Madge at the end of 2019? Or did he deserve 3 years to try and get to the finals? And if 3, why not 4 or 5?

Wests Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis has revealed the club’s review of the 2021 season is still ongoing with no time frame as to when it will be completed or what changes will be recommended.

The Tigers, who again failed to qualify for the finals for the tenth season in a row, launched an internal review into the club at the completion of their season.

Hagipantelis, who recently stated he was hoping to have some results by the end of this week said the club has an obligation to its fans to make sure the review is done in a comprehensive manner.

With the future of club coach Michael Maguire resting on the results of the review, the Chairman says they’ll “take as much time as it needs”.

“The review continues, the club is just going to take as much time as it needs to finalise the process.” Hagipantelis said on Breakfast with Vossy on 1170 SEN.

“As I said last week, it’s no different to the review that was undertaken last year. I appreciate the amount of media and community interest. (no closed quote)

“The club is a big brand, it’s enormously popular with 400,000 people that identify themselves as fans of the club so we have an enormous obligation to undertake such a review and to make sure the club looks very closely at itself. (no closed quote)

“The club will just simply take as much time as it needs to get through the process.”

The Wests Tigers under the coaching of Maguire finished 13th on the ladder with just eight victories this season.

It is believed Penrith assistant Cameron Ciraldo is leading the race for the club’s top role if the review finds that Maguire should be moved on.

Not according to some on here who say the review from the players were in favour of Madge staying.

Said it was complete and then sent to the Board on Wednesday (today). How long the board take to review/respond is unknown. Two things can be true at once.

Mine too, Madge said when he arrived, this is not a rebuild, this is a top 8 squad, I will improve the defence. By his own admission, he has failed at every level, bring on Ciraldo or someone more in touch with the modern game

Thanks for your feedback. This is a forum, right? I can pick and choose what I pursue and what I ignore.

Balmain Boy could have said "yeah" or said nothing at all, but he decided to push back several times, which is fine, and I decided to keep responding, which is also fine. One or both of us get bored with it soon enough without bystanders wanting to get involved.

I just want to say that although many think Tamou is a useless leader,just remember he came here from a well oiled and drilled system with much of the squad being together for a fair while...
coming here he is trying to help with leadership,skill,commitment off the field as well as bringing a group together that have come from far and wide with different levels of skill....not an easy task when you have lead a unit to the GF all on the same page...
He also backs Madge and understands his tasks ahead....

To back this claim, he’s really the only leader in the club. Mbye couldn’t have been that because he knows we spent the whole year shopping him around and Doueihi has just started to find his voice.

I can’t see the link between the review being drawn out and waiting for Ciraldo to finish with the Panthers. The club can still sack Madge in the meantime and announce Ciraldo when his duties are fulfilled.
