Matty Johns Show

I don't know why Ayoub would do that, I may as well have rang in.

Only two people were involved and present during that alleged conversation.

Farah and Tallis.

No one else can confirm or deny anything.

The fact that Tallis' word is somehow now considered gospel and Farah is a little piece of shit has got me baffled.

It's been reported that robbie never said to tallis that "potter can't coach" but instead said that he was "struggling", at a time when we were getting bashed week in week out.

Roy Masters just wrote a column naming Farah as trying to get rid of Potter aswell. All these people with a personal vendetta against him.

where in the article does it sat that "farah is trying to get rid of potter" ? it says that the "players" (not robbie alone) claimed they haven't learnt much under potter but they are willing to support him 100% if he is to remain the coach. Is that not what robbie has said to the media every time he has been asked about the whole issue ? did he not mention in the post match conference that the players want nothing to do with the whole decision ?

if the players had of come out and lied and said he is the best coach they've ever had and will soon surpass supercoach bennet; than people would accuse them of being to comfortable with the coach and doing what they can for the easy option. Lets just remember there not saying they don't like him, they're simply giving honest answers to the question being posed to them by their employers. Cut them some slack

seriously mate, i'm starting to think your one of "these people with a personal vendetta against him"…

From the article. Farah and other players approaching a club powerbroker. Admittedly it does say they would supportPotter if the clun persisted with him. It does confirm an approach about Potter though.
**Bailey is a decent man and long-term Wests supporter but he is using technical language to protect Farah and fellow players who recently approached a club money man who is not a board member.
(Players always know who holds the purse strings).
A summary of the conversation was: coach Michael Potter has not taught Wests Tigers brilliant youngsters much but if the club board insist on retaining him, the players will give Potter 100 per cent.**

Media beat up, he said she said crap from over 15 months ago. There's nothing in this, certainly nothing if Robbie said Potter was simply struggling last year, that appeared obvious.

Gordon's exact words were: "for a year and a half, Robbie has been talking about kick behind his back,.." And all he could base this on was that Robbie told him off air that he doesn't have belief in potter a year and a half ago.

mate if they were trying to get rid of him they would no way in hell say "oh yeah and if he doesn't leave it's alright will give it 100% thanks for trying anyway"

the players and coach play tennis and golf together, the bloke even attended robbie farah's birthday this year ! and i have seen them socialising after training at a cafe in homebush. If they wanted him out would they have boasted about this new club culture they have been harping on about all year ? would they have won a game like they did against the raiders a few weeks ago ? NO.

sometimes its not all smoke and mirrors and it is as simple as it sounds. The players were being brutally honest. Potter isn't a supercoach but he has their support. Is it really that hard ? or should we just keep hammering our club because fools like matty johns, tallis and ritchie have IQ's of 10000 and are real footy brains (if they even have any)…

EMBATTLED Tigers coach Mick Potter spent more than an hour at skipper Robbie Farah’s apartment on Monday as the pair attempted to erase the damage of a nightmare 24 hours for the joint venture.

The meeting inside Farah’s Breakfast Point living room was the flashpoint of another dramatic series of episodes at the Tigers, including:
* Gorden Tallis taking aim at Farah on radio for a second time in as many days, comparing the NSW Origin hooker’s handling of the truth to infamous drug cheat Lance Armstrong. The latest comments came after Farah labelled Tallis a “dog” on the field after full-time in Sunday’s game;
* Farah complaining to Tigers management about the editing of a recent press conference, from which direct quotes supporting Potter were initially cut and not broadcast on the club’s official website; and
* Revelations that a clause in Potter’s two-year contract only contemplated a third year should the side reach the 2013 finals.

Potter understood that he would be given another chance if the side reached this year’s finals and had been campaigning for a three-year extension.

Despite receiving a stay of execution at Sunday night’s board meeting, Potter’s future beyond Round 26 is highly uncertain.

Monday’s meeting with Farah, who lives in the same riverside apartment complex, was the first tentative step to getting the football department back on the same page.

Their relationship suffered a major blow on Sunday, when Tallis accused Farah of telling him that Potter was a poor communicator on Triple M.

That claim triggered a private 20-minute talk in the bowels of ANZ Stadium just prior to kick-off in the fixture against St George Illawarra, but there was more air to clear at Farah’s home on Monday.

Farah’s manager, Sam Ayoub, attended and said there were no problems going forward.
He also stressed there was no chance Farah would ask for a release from the remaining three years of his current deal.

“The big thing is that the conversation Gorden was referring to happened 15 months ago, when the team was struggling,” Ayoub said.

“That hasn’t been made clear and it needs to be made clear. What people also don’t know is that Robbie and Mick have always been up front with each other, going back that far.”

While Farah refused to comment publicly on Monday, Tallis again went on the front foot after being accused of misrepresenting a private conversation from last May.

When asked about Farah’s version of events on Brisbane’s Triple M Radio Grill team show on Monday, Tallis responded: “It’s a bit like Lance Armstrong.” That swipe is sure to have Farah fuming, particularly after he and Tallis shared an expletive-laden exchange on the pitch after full time on Sunday. Tallis attempted to get an interview, was called a “dog” and received a reply along the lines of: “Why the hell would I talk to you?”

Farah then proceeded to launch into Tallis for talking out of school, and, judging by his two-year grudge against Matty Johns, will not be accepting interviews from the former Maroons skipper for some time to come.

Upset over reports that have painted him as the architect of Potter’s woes, Farah was also angry at Tigers officials for failing to speak-up in his defence. Until a statement was released on Monday, he felt there was an internal conspiracy against him, a fate Farah has deliberately attempted to avoid by asking CEO Grant Mayer six weeks ago to be omitted from any conversations regarding Potter’s future. But Farah’s concerns were heightened on Sunday night, when he discovered that quotes from a pre-match press conference supporting Potter had been edited-out of the clip that originally broadcast on the Tigers website.

His anger was conveyed to Mayer, who ordered the full version to posted on Monday.
“Robbie was disappointed and his feelings were made known to us,” Mayer said.
“There was nothing deliberate about it. It was simply a matter of him being asked questions on the same topic for three or four minutes, and the video team felt the point had been made.

“We have now put the full version on the site, so that proves there is nothing to hide.”
Mayer also released his own statement on Monday, describing the focus on Farah as “damaging and disrespectful”.

Tallis wouldn't say something like this for ratings I don't believe. And Farah really shouldn't be so high and mighty. I can't get my head around why it hasn't been made so very clear along the way that he is onside with Mick. It's only now that he's really seemed to stand shoulder to shoulder with him. Maybe Robbie felt initially that Potz wasn't the man and shot his mouth off. Maybe he's altered his way of thinking now. Maybe he could have handled things a whole lot better but hasn't understood how to. Who really knows? Holy crap, things have just gone from bad to worse.

it's a storm in a tea cup. Robbie along with other player's should have come out in support of Potter if they truely did support him a lot earlier. But were they asked prior to the last 2 weeks ? or should they have called a press conference to announce their support ? honestly i was just thinking of this today but have they been asked the question prior and refused to answer or deflected it ? or is this the first time they have been given an opportunity to show their support of potter to the rugby league world ? (genuine question)

I don't believe tallis is making the whole scenario up but i don't for one second think that a player would tell a douche bag media figure like tallis "our coach can't coach". Tallis was pushed into a corner and irrationally spat out that statement and has stuck with it since when robbie reportedly told tallis that potter was "struggling". Tallis looked very shaky on the MJS tonight and seemed to be doing a bit of sucking up to the tigers whilst trying to act all tough and full of integrity  i just want these so called "media figures" to just leave our club alone and not use us to make a buck

it does seem to have all become pretty overblown to me…

Well no, because even 10 days ago, Farah said that the players were behind Potter, before Tallis started this bull;shit campaign.

How does Farah win here? He says he supports the coach, that boofhead wanker with the IQ of a used teabag, Tallis, says otherwise and the media goes and supports Tallis.

The media have their agenda and doesn't meet with the facts, so the media just keep pushing until someone gets sick of it all and walks.

Then they use that as their evidence.

Before this Tallis saga started, Farah made it clear that the players were behind Potter. The media ignored that and deemed Farah a liar.

Farah can't win, he can speak a thousand truth's and the media won't believe any of them because it won't fit their agenda and the stories that they want to sell. Team unity and harmony doesn't sell newspapers.

Agree. Just quietly I have heard that Tallis has been offered a supporting role in the next Planet of the Apes film based on his ability to grunt the occasional sentence.

I'm not so sure wd. If the article is true (I've found myself saying that a lot lately) it implies that Farah and Potter, while not best mates, can work together. It also implies that the problems with management ineptitude are real, and were a big factor in this saga.

Quote Tony33 "i just want these so called "media figures" to just leave our club alone and not use us to make a buck"
That would be nice Tony33\. Enter Tigers Management, Ta-daaa!
G-day fellas, how bout you start doing your job, protecting club and brand? How bout you stop risk-managing your own seats and stepping up to the plate with some real, direct actions against untrue media? Why didn't you respond to the allegation of 'embarrassment if we made the finals'?
That one allegation creates a great big grey cloud over your motives and actions. Sort it!

I reckon that if you have respect for your coach, and you're the captain of the club, then you keep your mouth shut and your opinions to yourself. This crap was always going to surface at some point due to the blabbing of Farah. It's like trying to unscramble an egg.

For Christ's sake give it a bloody rest!!!!

It does not matter who said what to whom, it is over now until the end of the season.

Stop stoking the fire and get behind the team and let the media nut jobs rave on as much as they like. Here is an idea:- stop watching and listening to them.

Matty Johns is dirty for the steaming he copped over that gangbang in NZ. His return to the media has seen a far more vindictive side of him surface. Seems hellbent on creating copius drama about issues and ensuring those involved go through the wringer.

Pathetic individual.
