COnfirmed signed by the dogs as well.

Put this to bed lads. It's done and dusted

All the talk about salar cap issues with us and this being the reason Brown was let go are probably true, but what about the Dogs, they surely must be stretching theirs.
Good luck Mitch,Sheens never gave you a fair go,so no surprise you are leaving, you should have run out at left wing for us yesterday.

I would have had Mitch in the tige's starting lineup yesterday - or at least on the bench. He's a quality player who would have improved with more game time. Good luck with the doggies mate.

if we had to let him go because of a salary cap issue, bugger humphries and sheens they seem to be in trouble with cap every year .what a good player he was for us and never let us down and was not given a fair go, if we let him go because he wanted a chance to play 1st grade. good luck mitch i hope he kills them at the dogs :bash :deadhorse: :rant

Look, fair play to Brown's efforts and I wish him all the best but be serious: he was fifth choice winger, fourth choice full back and about fifth or sixth choice centre. Perhaps he truly is the wonderful talent some people on this forum seem to believe but let's not forget he was also let go by Cronulla and that's not exactly a club that's overflowing with talented outside backs. In an ideal world he's a useful guy to have around but he's also eminently replacable - and, between Humble and Reddy, has already in fact been replaced.

Hope he gets a regular 1 grade spot as he deserves it to bad it had to be the doggies

Sorry to see him leave, like many other members I feel he wasn't able to give it a fair shake because of Mr Sheens but I could have handled him going anywhere else bar the Dogs.

Not a fan of this decision, with Tedesco out for the year, letting another fullback go is foolish I think, however the deal was probably done before yesterday's game. You can only keep good players at the club in reserve grade for so long, they will eventually want to go and play first grade elsewhere. I don't blame him for leaving and wish him well.

Good decision by Mitch to move on. If it means he'll be cracking grade every week then good on him.
He's by no means a huge loss like most people seem to be making out. He was a great back up and fill in player but he by no means had the attacking flair to make impact at fullback.
All the best at the doggies Mitch.

i get what you are saying 2041,and in some ways you are correct.
but first let me say,the old being released by a struggling club argument is weak.
that is what people said when we signed him and that he was crap.
he was far from it.
he played a role for this club with consistent and dependable play in a number of roles.
a player like brown isn't going to win you a premiership, but letting him go could cost you one if injuries mount up and we have to go through the pains of rookie mistakes at the back end of the season.
in a team like ours, having players who simply play the fundamentals of the position can be a handy balance to the team.

he was a good insurance policy for the club, that i wish we could of kept.
mitch was tired of simply being seen as just insurance, and i can't blame him.

You've hit the nail on the head Bon.

Good luck to Mitch at the Dogs. Will be a little bit further up the pecking order at Belmore. Smart decision to move on.

Heard its cause we r over the salary cap…..
More players to go yet

While i think he is a very handy player, i think you going way over the top calling him a massive loss. He wasn't even in our strongest 17\. Gareth Ellis, now there is a massive loss

Exactly. Will not be missed. By me anyway.

I don't blame him for looking elsewhere but hes certainly not a big loss to us.

I would not be suprised to see him end up like most of the players we let go….nsw cup

Good luck Mitch! I hope you get the game time you need.

Its a shame, but our backline pretty much picks itself for the most part. If Mitch had come into the side a few years earlier, he would have slotted right in.

Good Luck Mitch, he played to his ability whenever he got a chance and never let us down hope he goes well at the Dogs. When you look at yesterdays game and in particular Gibbs and Fifita (who I also didnt want to go) for Blair/Groat/Woods I'm pretty sure its in the best interest for all involved.
