COnfirmed signed by the dogs as well.
Put this to bed lads. It's done and dusted
@spearby said:if we had to let him go because of a salary cap issue, bugger Humphreys and sheens they seem to be in trouble with cap every year .what a good player he was for us and never let us down and was not given a fair go, if we let him go because he wanted a chance to play 1st grade. good luck mitch i hope he kills them at the dogs :bash :deadhorse: :rant

Look, fair play to Brown's efforts and I wish him all the best but be serious: he was fifth choice winger, fourth choice full back and about fifth or sixth choice centre. Perhaps he truly is the wonderful talent some people on this forum seem to believe but let's not forget he was also let go by Cronulla and that's not exactly a club that's overflowing with talented outside backs. In an ideal world he's a useful guy to have around but he's also eminently replacable - and, between Humble and Reddy, has already in fact been replaced.

i get what you are saying 2041,and in some ways you are correct.
but first let me say,the old being released by a struggling club argument is weak.
that is what people said when we signed him and that he was crap.
he was far from it.
he played a role for this club with consistent and dependable play in a number of roles.
a player like brown isn't going to win you a premiership, but letting him go could cost you one if injuries mount up and we have to go through the pains of rookie mistakes at the back end of the season.
in a team like ours, having players who simply play the fundamentals of the position can be a handy balance to the team.
he was a good insurance policy for the club, that i wish we could of kept.
mitch was tired of simply being seen as just insurance, and i can't blame him.

While i think he is a very handy player, i think you going way over the top calling him a massive loss. He wasn't even in our strongest 17\. Gareth Ellis, now there is a massive loss
