Come week one of the comp the nines will be fish and chip paper and would like to be pulling the Porsche out of the garage with no scratches on it.

To watch them play and win games in competituions against the others.
Never sits well with me not taking anything youre involved in seriously…so much for proffesionalism

Agree wholeheartedly.
If the players are going to get injured, then they would have been injured anyway, so I don't buy that excuse. I've said it before, the Nines is less demanding physically and I would say **there is LESS risk of injury in this format**. Why do you think 40 year olds like Fittler, Nagas and Menzies were falling over themselves to play?
I can understand if players aren't 100% fit, you wouldn't risk them, but the team we are going to trot out on Saturday will be blasted off the park.
Disappointed to say the least.

The amount of injuries that came out of the nines last yr says otherwise.

I think its a smart move from Taylor. The real good clubs - Easts, Souths, Canterbury, Melbourne, Manly - don't take this comp seriously.
They leave their best at home. I think the concept is a good platfrom for young guys outside of first grade.
I think Taylor has got it right.

**you can get injured walking down the road and you can break your kneecap in a non contact training session.**
maybe there's less risk in 9s, but it's sitll contact footy over 2 days so there's substantial risk. numerous players from all clubs were injured last year, i think penrith had 1 or 2 season enders. i'd really like that not to be moses, brooks or farah. perfectly fine not to take the chance imo, especially with our run of injuries lately.
so what if we get blasted off the park? hope our points difference doesnt take too much of a beating :unamused:
