That's not a bad side, but JT is right....we need a centre and a second rower...
Can anyone explain the obsession some people have with trying to turn Taupau into a back rower? He's the one bright spot heading into 2015, he's not broken, don't fix him.
I recall Taupau coming off the bench and playing on the left edge a few times. Even once targeting Cherry-Evans against Manly at Leichardt and making a line break. **It's not something that's totally out of the picture and as idiotic as your making it out to be.**
Taupau is too good to be a bench player his whole career and has the mobility and speed to cut it as an edge second rower or playing in the middle at lock. That way he can fix our back row crisis whilst finding a way to maximise his time on the field. Kill to birds with one stone.
Why do you think the idea is so extraordinary ?

I think it is. His biggest asset is being able to come in to the game when the sting is out of it and run amok. Why screw with something that works? And he isn't a bench player cos he isn't good enough to be in the starting side, he's a bench player cos it makes sense with how he runs the ball, its strategic.
There are positives in both strategies GNR. He can start in the second row and maximise the time he has to run havoc or play off the bench and maximise the impact he actually makes. The reason i would go with the first strategy is it could potentially solve our second row crisis.
I also don't buy into the more game time, limits his impact. He came on for NZ in the four nations final around about the 20th minute and played into the second half until he got injured. His last run was just as damaging as his first and he was creating plenty of havoc, managing to change the game.
I would move him to a starting left back rower postion, but that's just my opinion.
