For those saying Farah is an innocent bystander - if there is a signed contract then Robbie signed it, no doubt with the knowledge and blessing of his manager Sam Ayoub. Sam being a registered players agent and knowing full well how the NRL are gunning for rogue agents would have known that this contract was a bit dodgy but still allowed his client to sign it. Why arent the NRL going after Ayoub when he would have knowingly allowed his client to sign a dodgy contract. And is Robbie using the " i just leave everything to my manger plea." Just as bad as Inglis with his not knowing he had a boat in his garage. So my rant is mainly why isn't Ayoub being de registered and Robbie being given the punt.
It's hardly a player's responsibility to register his own contract.
Oh please - after the Melbourne rubbish of shoddy contracts and the recent NRL crackdown on player managers. You obviously don't like Pascoe and your posts show that however if he has done the wrong thing fine i have no problem with the punishment. My concern is that Ayoub and Farah are in this up to their eyeballs in this if they did in fact sign a contract that was quite obviously an inducement and no one is saying a word.
Signing on for an ambassador role is not illegal in the NRL, the CLUB has to seek approval from the NRL for it to be salary cap exempt. If approval isn't given then it is included in the salary cap. None of that is Farah or his managers role.
The issue here is that not only was the approval not sought but the contract was hidden offsite, Farah and his manager had no reason to believe that the Tigers had not followed the correct procedures. Compounding the hidden contract is the fact the club applied for a reduction in the cap hit from Farah's exit stating he was a distraction and provided this in writing while sitting on a hidden contract for future ambassador role.
