Thanks for the memories Pat and all the best with Catalans. Surely after releasing or not resigning so many players over the last 12 months the Tigers must have now have some room within the salary cap to sign a decent player or two as 2017 is just to long to wait for as long suffering fans!!

We are MORE than $1m UNDER the cap…BUT because our Football Operations is broke we are using CAP money to prop that side of the business up...this is fact

Looks Like we will be receiving a breach notice from the NRL if this is indeed fact…

A$6.55 million in 2015, with a salary floor of A$6.05 million (92.5% of the cap).

So if we are only spending A$5.55 or less we are in do do....

Where'd you find that Geo? I went looking for this the other day after Watto said there wasn't a minimum spend and couldn't find anything…

It relates to 2014….I adjusted the figures for 2015 for relevance the Salary cap floor of 92.5% remained the same according to the 2014 NRL Annual report which is a 52 pg pdf and I cbf linking that for 1 line ...

No it's not.

The NRL won't allow a team to be $1million under the cap. In order to have a competitive comp each team has to spend a certain amount (I believe it's 92/93%) of the cap. The cap is what $5-$6mil? So the most any team can be under the cap is still under $500k.

THIS is fact.

Should never have let him leave.

Oh well, he went on to be one of the biggest point scorers in Superleague history which wasn't bad for an 8 season stint, when you consider Kevin Sinfield has played for twice as long and only has 800 more points it's not a bad effort.

I honestly don't see the value of getting rid of Buchanan, Lovett or Santi. These blokes are on bugger all money. We can't afford to buy any stars, so their replacement would either be from our NSW Cup or other clubs rejects.

(I'm not saying they should be in our starting side, but they are decent backup.)
