I agree. The big boys were good today! Vaka Aho looked excellent. Noah and Tim were both impressive. Matamua looked more comfortable out there today and I thought he played well too.

Feledy was the pick of the backs by quite a margin. Solo Saukuru started the game quiet but had a much better second half. Lobb and Craig didn't stand out. Tino Tavana made a few errors and you can see that he is still very raw.

I agree. The big boys were good today! Vaka Aho looked excellent. Noah and Tim were both impressive. Matamua looked more comfortable out there today and I thought he played well too.

Good summary TW. Vaka Aho can really impact with his runs & tackles, one to watch this season. It was a Rahme, Tim Joh 1-2 punch & then Aho, Noah Joh 1-2 punch in the game, that was enjoyable to see.

Thought Max Liles was good, set up a couple of tries. Ackland is an energiser bunny with a good running game but passing game leaves a lot to be desired. Saukuru has moments of 'wow this guy could be anything' but doesn't get involved enough or demand the ball when coming off our line unlike Feledy who was good.

Wasn't impressed with Lobb or Will Craig on the wings, both cost tries with either poor tackles or defensive reads once again.

Out of the Cup players, thought Mikey Tannous, Jayden Tanner, Charlie Murray & Joe Lovodua were also good.

The team also really needs a halfback. Ackland is a runner. Seem to be a heap of 5/8s in this squad though

NBWT on Twitter has said Solo Saukuru and Tim Johannsen have been moved to starting lineup. Apparently have gotten a new centre from Souths Izaac Tuitupou (formerly Thomson) who played a few NRL games for them.

Wests are down 6-4 at the break. They're showing the defensive fragility of the first grade team but are much more cohesive in attack. Hopefully one or both of our teams can avoid the spoon this year.

Knights now lead 16-4 after a lovely line break by Will Price, who has probably been the most threatening attacking player out there.

Latu has thrown some lovely short balls.

Overall, this has been a typically slow, scrappy, first game of the season and if you were not sold by Aaron Payne's style of play last year, this very, very, very early sample will not have changed your mind.

I’m at Lidcombe. Agree on defence but not on attack. Would not pick any of these guys on first grade, Fainu included. Has shown nothing but disinterest.
