Robbie Farah..Discussion Thread.....

There's been reports doing the rounds today that Robbie was owed $400,000 from his last contract and that amount is actually being paid in his $1 million per year current contract.

It was reported in the SMH this morning and was also being discussed on Triple M's Grill Team .

IF it is true then honeslty wow ! Makes this whole decision even harder to cop !

Snake you didn't seem to mind when we caught Souths on the hop without Rep players and with players out of position and as well were badly out of form. That was looked on as a " great win."
And if you can't see that the team do support Farah then you are not looking ( especially as some have already gone public with that support) it must have really hurt that Farah had a blinder today , and I hope you arent too traumatised by the teams good game

I'm sure all fans enjoyed today's win.

Should be an interesting week. Just watched the post match conference and Farah seemed adamant that he was staying put, and i doubt he'd go back on his word after all the support he's had over the last few days. He just has to call the club's bluff, they aren't going to play him in NSW cup.

Im certain too….ridiculous to think otherwise.
Goldy on the other hand....

Sounds like some are salivating more over Farah's performance rather than the fact we put 50 on the opposition. And these same people are trying to rub it in? How does that work?

If Farah stays then Taylor will have no ability to coach the side, unless they have a very hard conversation with one another. I also doubt the board are dumb enough to sack him and cost us more money, so they either have to rely on him quitting, which is not in the best interest of the club at all and finding someone else AGAIN for no reason other than the fact that Farah has managed to win a power struggle with another coach is ridiculous. We'll just keep going through nuffy coaches until Farah leaves and probably becomes coach himself within 2 years after he white ants some other nuffy coach out of the gig.

Farah and Ayoub are just incredibly savvy operators I have to hand it to them. You can't take them on, they are too connected, too smart and cunning. Get asked to leave for a valid reason but can't find any takers? Leak the whole thing to the media including details about Rod Reddy slagging him off about Origin and watch the fans go ape

He would be sitting at home watching that footage of the fan thanking Taylor for screwing up the club on repeat with a box of tissues and some KY Jelly right at hand.

You would be a great preacher!!!
Lucky most people are intelligent enough to see that a desperate coach goes to desperate measures and that most fans join a team for loyalty, passion and not giving up, just like our captain robbie

Sorry Mac, I missed the Rod Reddy slagging about origin. What happened there ?

And LOLL at your last paragraph

Apparently part of the conversation that happened between Taylor and Reddy and Ayoub and Farah was Reddy making a point of how we lose him for 8 weeks for Origin and he gets hurt in it.

Watched it too. Could be all for show, but they seemed alright to me for what is a difficult situation.

Would be good for Farah to quickly find a club

Possibly for the first time in our history, we have a neutral board who are not emotionally attached to what happens on the footy field. In Go's Statement, she hints at the bigger picture and basically identifys the club is moving on regardless how sad it is they need to part with Farah. Why go through this pain?

The voices in my head have me believing Taylor is a terrible coach, and if he doesnt start winning 55% + of his matches his days are numbered. I always have a Plan B (plan c & d also) and I wouldnt be surprised if the board have identified Farah is the biggest hurdle in finding a suitable coach, and are simply positioning the club for life past Taylor.

You could be onto something Mac, but if it's just voices, who knows?

I don't think there is any denying that Robbies performance was a big two finger salute to Taylor

In his post match interview on FOX He intimated that he made the decision to play like he wanted to and basically do what he is good at.

I took it also to mean that Robbie has been a good soldier and following orders much to the detriment of his own form.

I think he certainly proved a point today.

Smh said players have to walk around farah on egg shells when they loose… While I'm sure that's the same case for forum members families. It's not an ideal situation and Robbie has to fix his attitude.

This is a concern for me.

Im getting the impression Taylor and his men are playing Money Ball with our club.

Its one thing for them to consider an aging rep player who by his Origin selection plays less games than the other players for the club a bad value scenario.

Its another to have a philosophy where Origin players are frowned on. Its a very rigid and overly intellectual way of assembling a squad this Money Ball approach.

It makes sense in theory but it has never been proven in rugby league, rugby league is not baseball.

What would the Broncos be without all the benefits their players have brought back to the club after playing Origin.

Its just more of the same from a coach who is great on theory but very poor when it comes to actual results.

Ok Ink tell me where I said that anyone ( even Snake) didn't enjoy the win.
(I'd be interested to see that.)
But a few of you would rather it had been anyone except Farah that starred
Even you have seemed a little ruffled lately.
And what makes you think that I didn't enjoy it . I always love to see us win

How does that work?

maybe they just enjoyed seeing a United team throw the shackles away , and play some great football. For a change
Maybe you are just getting a bit over sensitive ( like others)about seeing Farah hitting back.
don't be too grouchy, he'll go well in NSW cup next year for us , I'm sure.

I agree… What better way to make a statement and bring your best game of the year.

The look on the boys faces as Robbie tore the Warriors to bits was one of excitement and they all wanted in on the show. My favourite part was we had a dummy half who dominated the middle [this hasnt happened for a while], and Mitchell, Luke & Teddy just played what they needed to play rather than pushing it too far.

It looked like a big day, and a fitting farewell to Sauce, Patty & Robbie on home soil.

Seems like every journo has planted themselves in either the Robbie Camp or the Taylor Camp.

One article says that Robbie is a saint that has been hard done by, and the next article from the same paper says that Robbie is ruining the club and needs to go.

I think its probably a bit of both unfortunately, but ultimately only one side will win and it looks like that will be JT and the Club.

Another loss next week to the Dragons fighting for their season, and all the sentimentality and hype from this week will be long forgotten.

Voices in your head?

I'd settle with 50% winning for now, it would be an improvement on this year's 35% and probably see us on the edge of the 8\. Wayne Bennett has a winning record of 61.8%, which is quite amazing, but still not a billion years over 50%.
