That tackle should have been on Napas right shoulder with his head going to the side of McCulloch. He decided to line up his left shoulder putting his head in line with McCulloch. Its intentional in my opinion.

Totally agree it should have been a right shoulder tackle just like the last one on Sims.

That's why he's ending up making contact with his head, he's getting his head on the wrong side of his body.
He's planting his feet and launching and the player is slightly getting on his wrong side but it's too late to adjust, he's got his head down he's not looking and he's just driving with his legs into the collision as hard as he can.

I don't agree it's intentional, if you've played football yourself you'll know that nobody wants to use their head as first contact, good way to really hurt yourself badly.

I wouldn't say nobody. People still box.

_Never known a boxer to use their head to contact their opponent._
Besides, I'm talking football.

Anyone who has played and understands how collisions happen sometimes will understand that it wasn't intentional.
It was awkward, and he dies need to fix it

Try looking at Evander Holyfield V Hasim Rahman fight.

I only used boxing as an example of people doing dangerous things despite knowing the dangers. Ronnie Gibbs used to torpedo head first into kickers legs if you need a footy example. I played growing up and can't see how anyone can turn their body that far around accidentally. Someone runs at your right shoulder you tackle them with your right shoulder.

That’s a fair result. It was careless - he’s hit him in the head when going for a big hit.

I disagree - he went in leading with his head for the second time this year. Broke one guy's jaw earlier and I'd be surprised if it isn't another broken jaw tonight. He is deliberately leading with his head - no doubt about it - and no amount of defence from Gus will change his intent.

Absolutely gutless.

Just saw it. Agree 100%. It is an unnatural way to tackle the way his head is so far in front of his arms in terms of timing- his intent must be to contact first with the head then wrap the arms in an attempt to make the tackle look legit. Napa has been very fortunate that he plays with an "untouchable" club, he would have spent a shedload of time on the sidelines otherwise, have is a serial cheap-shot merchant.
If he irons out Cammy with a dog shot like that it is worth applause most certainly. Other than that IMO he should probably be rubbed out for the rest of the season for that hit tonight.

Napa will go for the rest of the season. Not sure why all the hysteria.

I bet he doesn't .
The Rorters will use his one on Sims from earlier this year as a precedent. He got off that one with nothing.
1-2 weeks, if that, for this one. Bryce Gibbs on the other hand would of got 12 weeks for tonight's one. It is always handy to play for an NRL-favoured club when it comes to judiciary matters.

David Fifita is going to be a special player. Broncos will be a force in 2-3 years. Just need a halfback.

This year is wide open and the Broncos have a great record against the top sides. They might win the comp this year with an imperfect version of this side. The likes of Fifita, TPJ, Su'a are still many years away from their peak.

With the refs in your corner anything is possible. They have been silver-plattered 3 wins already this season, another 3 will get them pretty close to a premiership.
Talent-wise they should be no hope.

I'm calling it now Broncos for the Premiership! They shouldn't even be there considering all the leg ups they got this year, but they are there and they seem to be hitting their straps at the right time, while just about all of the other top 8 teams are hopelessly out of form. Roosters, Souths, Penrith & St George all very shaky at present, Melbourne with a lot of injury woes just scraping through matches and Cronulla a bit inconsistent.

It's really anyone's comp I guess, whichever team will stand up. A few weeks ago I thought Roosters v Storm GF for sure, but not now! Broncos and Warriors are looking the best of the bunch at the moment, so anything is possible.

If his intent is to contact first with the head why don't we see him hitting more people with his head?
Are you saying that a split second before he made this tackle he just decided that for some reason this tackle he's going to use his head instead?

Once again if you've played you should understand how easy it is for someone to get on your wrong side (turn a right shoulder tackle into a left one) once you've set your feet for a right shoulder and balanced yourself all it takes is the player to jink late and your head ends up across the front of you in the wrong spot, we see this happen to players going low all the time and they cop a hip etc,
are you saying that they're also deliberately using their head?

The only difference is what his head connected with, it's a collision sport where two body's are moving and coming together and the attacker is trying to avoid the defender, awkward collisions are going to happen especially when you're planting your feet and driving with your legs as Napa does, If you remember Sonny Bill used to do the same and not always connect where he was aiming either.
Napa needs to adjust his technique or timing he himself is going to come off second best one day if he doesn't, if someone sees it coming and has time to turn he could cop the point of the shoulder to the head and lights out for him.
No footballer is intentionally trying to drive their head into blokes faces, unless them themselves want to end their own season.

I can't believe people actually think someone would do that on purpose, yes even a lunatic like Napa.

I can't believe people think he wouldn't. Players do stupid things on the football field every game - especially 'lunatics'. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Comp faves have changed each week for the past 5 or 6 rounds… Likely the same thing after next weekend games too

I guess we will, but you're also disagreeing with Joey and the King who have a lot more Footy knowledge than you or me, and I'm willing to bet that you're also disagreeing with the majority of current players coaches and commentators.

In my eyes he was trying to put on a big shot and it went wrong.
Did he have intent to belt McCulloch as hard as he could?
Absolutely!!
Did he intend to drive his head into his face possibly causing severe head trauma to himself or McCulloch?
Don't think so

It's obvious some just have it in for Napa and especially the Roosters, I don't particularly like either of them either but I'm not going to let that influence what I think.
I couldn't care less if Napa got 10 weeks but I'd be outraged if it happened to a Tigers player because it was an accident.
