Any thoughts on Quade Cooper, he has been told by Reds new coach that he is not part of their plans next season.
He can be A Rock or a Diamond type player.

A bloke who broke into his mate's apartment to nick stuff isn't the sort of individual we want at our club. Simona would of gotten on well with him back in the day though.

No but we openly accepted someone who knocked a guy to the ground and then stomped on his head.
You want to look at the meaning of "Double standards".

Not to mention the love for the grub which I have never understood.. the bloke is a star in the nightclubs but nowhere else.

Overpaying Matulino, Reynolds and Packer has left no room for a decent crack at Crichton seemingly

Crichton has come out saying he wants to win premierships. He won't stay with Souths, and there's no way he'd come to us. (Maybe in a year or so our rep might start to change. Fingers crossed.)

He's headed to a big name club, we could have offered him a $1m/per year and still not got him. (Roosters would just pay him $500k, but then another $500k through TPAs.)

Both him and Nick Frisby have been told to search elsewhere for next year by new coach Brad Thorn.

There has been a link to the titans I’m led to believe but nothing substantial, I’d imagine he’ll go overseas and stay at the 15 man game.

I don't think we over payed Mataulino, or Packer for that matter, maybe Reynolds.

If he can't get a run at the Reds you wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole

Karmichael Hunt would be a different story though

Sounds familiar

I thought we did well to pick up both props at a very reasonable price. Reynolds I'd suggest has been purchased not only for the way he plays but the spirit he brings to a team.

That's a bit savage - crucifying a guy for one small incident in a night club. You obviously had an axe to grind before that incident.

Also I don't think 475k for Matulino and 650k for Packer (both Internationals) is overpaying. We were and never will get Crichton at the time because he wasn't on the market. Were we to not spend anything in the hope that he may come on the market.

Where did you get that figure for Matulino, Russell cause what I saw was $700k. Just wondering because thats a big difference.

I can recall reading Matulino's deal being worth $475.

Who knows? Could be including TPAs, or could be wild speculation from someone with no info inside the club. Or could be right.

The 475k figure came from somewhere here who has inside info. I think it may have been Yossarian.

1st I've seen of that estimate.

I can't recall where but I read several articlesafter he signed atating he was on $475.

Than read where Packer was supposedly on $600 and remember thinking it was odd he was offered ao much more than Matulino.

That article may be right but as i said 1st time I've seen that amount quoted.

Maybe if you can find the old thread on when Matulino signed there will be some info in there

Sheesh! You talk about overpriced players …. don’t rate him.

I saw an article the other day which quoted Crichton saying he wasn’t looking for money but who he thought gave him the best chance to play rep footy and develop him. I took that as code for “I’ll be joining the Roosters for half the amount of money everyone else offers”.
