Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Given Sheens, Farah and Funer were forwards and Marshall a half maybe the club along with the Centre of Excellent should invest heavily in a Specialised backs coach to improve the skills of Laurie, Topou, Naden, T'oa, Staines, Kepaoa, Talau, Feledy and Reilly. etc. All are young and at times have shown some promise.

Feledy a former Manly junior seems to have an impressive resume. Let's hope he kicks on.

Can any Forum Members give any insight to Tristen Reilly (Centre & ex Rugby Union)) and Apisalome Saukuru (Second Rower) both listed in the top 30 on WT official website.

Pack looks awesome for 2023.

With so many changes for 2023 I am expecting an improved season.

2024/2025 seasons with combinations formed, more attacking style of play, junior talent pushing for NRL spots is when I feel WT will be challenging with the top teams. In 2024 if we can land Moses or George Williams to player half back that could be the missing link.
I could live with a halves pairing of Brooks and Moses. Unlease Brooks running game.
Stephen James haas been approached to take on the skills coaching role

Maybe ok just concerned about no 3 and no 4
I'm assuming Douehi at 6 but if Laurie or your " new signing " can do 6 then yes Douehi good as center . You think Talau still ok ? Good i liked him 2 years ago . Feledy ? Unknown quantity
Feledy has big wraps knows how to find the line , is what I hear. Has a big rep.
Talau back up for me. I like douehi / naden as centres with pace outside them Jimmy/ Nofa / tupou

Worked with Sheens before aswell.

I like it a lot @Lidcombe_Magpie1
thanks for that. Up up the pirates

@derekderekson that little clip on
the link you posted is good insight
into how he coaches. Strip it back
to basics and attack orientated.
you could see how his coaching
philosophy aligns with Sheens'

On the subject of AD, he certainly is not worth anywhere 900 and I don’t know a club that would fork it out…but one thing he did offer was passion and there were only two others that consistently showed passion and they were Hastings and Joe O, and of course Hastings is gone. You Need passion to win the big games

I don't believe Bateman lacks in that Dept and Klemmer certainly has demonstrated it over the years, Doueihi put himself in the transit lounge with his price tag. We're yet to see how that ends.

He could fit the lock role, IMHO, he is not fast enough to play centre
You could be right.

I remember this post from respected poster @CCTW hinting a move to the middle of the park for Talau may just be his calling.

A lot of people sleeping on Junior Tupou as well, very raw yet exciting junior can be a star with the right guidance

I have a feeling Feledy and Tupou will be our long term centres moving forward

Down the track Tommy T could be our Yeo. Played no6 asa junior so has the passing game to be your link man, played centre so can defend and has some size about him. Although at this stage has a few in front of him
