Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wonder if we’re aiming so high that what’s left odds not appealing us. Thing is w we have zilch. Maybe Will Smith and even he’s not played grade this year. At some point you have to eat a little humble pie and get a lower ranked player in their position and bide your time until something comes on the market.

Well I kinda that Smith was brought in as a potential no 7 back up but rarely mentioned. Surely with his experience he couldn’t be that bad. Would just like to see him have a game or two to see if can add something. Couldn’t be any slower than Brandon.

He made a very valid point around the same time we went on a month long losing streak, culminating in a loss by seventy four points. How any nuffies can think otherwise amazes me. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me when a pair of Nuffies managed to get to a point where they are running a professional football club.
No.

He has continued to argue for six weeks that Ofahengaue should've been replaced when the very goal of releasing him wasn't to find a replacement.

So it's a moot point.

Criticising the club for not achieving an outcome that they weren't trying to achieve is redundant.

And a buried issue.

Move on.

You have been banging on about lack of replacements for released players for months.

Joffa in particular, you would have mentioned in nothing short of 20 comments, all the same, along the lines of 'we let Joffa go and replaced him with ______'

Surely you know that is not the way that these things work. A new signing is not contingent on a release and a release is not contingent on a new signing. The two have nothing to do with each other.

How often does a like for like replacement happen across the league?

People have spelled out, extremely clearly, that this release wasn't designed as a replacement, it was designed as cap relief for a bench player.

Ad nauseum.

Whether or not you agree with the decision is irrelevant, it was never designed as a replacement type signing, so why do you keep mentioning the same, tired, old copy and paste?

You made your incorrect point 6 weeks ago, let it go.
😂😂😂 my issue is we are travelling so well, that we let a senior player go and didn't replace him in our squad.
Scroll past my posts if they annoy you. As I will with yours, which enable mediocrity.

Your posts in general don't annoy me, but you're flogging a dead horse on this particular point.

I scrolled past it for 6 weeks.

It had to be mentioned.

What authority do you have to speak on the goals of the club? The goal is to field a competitive team and win. He is rightly pointing out they failed. Again. And again. And again……. It’s not me who needs to move on.
Oh, goodness me.

'The goal is to field a competitive team and win.'

So the goal of releasing Ofahengaue was to field a competitive team and win?

We're talking about a specific contract situation, not rugby league at large.

Try and stay on topic.

What authority do I have to speak on the goals of the club?

I was referring to what I suspect they were likely trying to achieve through the release. The cap relief is self-evident, but supported by the club using the phrase that the situation 'works for both parties' as well as the scuttlebutt at the time regarding his salary being a major consideration in granting the release.

I may speak on that to my heart's content. And I am backed up by language directly from the club.

And I was calling on Eternal to move on from his broken record argument. Not you and not him as a poster in general.

I'm very specific with my words and context matters in these discussions.

This must've been a late edit. I missed it in my original reply.

How exactly do my posts enable mediocrity?

By being satisfied by spending nowhere near our Cap limit (Sheens told us at 10yr Member function) I don't want to continue because the horse is already dead apparently.
Accepting these actions is enabling wooden spoon Management.

If we need cap relief with the roster we have assembled there is something wrong. We shouldn’t be anywhere near the cap.

If there is no cap reason, then you don’t release a player unless you have someone to replace them, either inside the club or available to sign
