Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Nofo on the right wing, Fonua on the left - Yes please. Throw Suli and either Milne/Hopoate/Hiku in the centres, Lolohea at fullback, you've got a pretty good backline right there.

I still reckon Sandor Earl would be worth looking at too as another outside back option.

I think so too

If we are after Hiku, does this mean that the deal with Russell Packer fell through?

I cant imagine we would look at signing both of these guys, considering their history together. That would be a disaster in the making.

very physical wing pairing of nof and fon .

teams are going to be spending more time in recovery after tigers games in the future.
keep it going cleary

Hiku seemed to move on fairly quickly afterwards though …

PENRITH winger Peta Hiku admits he was “furious” after a hit from fellow-Kiwis international Russell Packer left with him a fractured eye-socket during the opening round of the NRL season.

However, after speaking for the first time after the incident on Tuesday, Hiku said he had moved on from the hit and didn’t believe there was anything personal in the matter.

I hope when all the signings are done that someone cleverer than me does something with this tune …

Mahe Fonua

I didn't realise he was that tall, sounds good, he was a try scorer thats for sure

Excited about the signings, and those rumoured to be happening.
Im a bit surprised people are dismissive of Idris though; I think he has been unlucky with injury so far but when he came back from the foot he looked to be really getting his mojo back. Okay, only strung two games, but I think his solid type play is more than useful with the nature of the tigers (potential) backs.
I like him. I think they should strike while he still comes cheap and extend a year. He's still quite young and can become a great second rower.

would not touch Hiku, had a couple of good years at Manly but has been average since

Don't want him either but maybe we have missed out on Milne and Hoppa doesn't want to play Sundays ao he might be last decent option inthe centres.

Yeah. Or penrith are making the rumorbto grt rid of him haha. Corey harawira is more important. Penrith dont have the cash to sign him unless they ditch a player or two.

Tilne must be stsying at dragons. ashame.

I like him as well. He can hit and he has some impact which we really need.

I like this signing of Fonua if he is a big fast tough winger as well. Nofo and one wing and this guy on the other sounds great. Suli and Idris in the centres would be good as well. Idris if not in the centres should be able to play in the backrow. That is a lot of strike power out wide.

If we can get a quality fullback we will have a good backline. Our pack could do with an addition or two but it doesn't look bad to me.

I'm starting to look forward to the traitors going and having a better overall team along with a good coach.

It's not looking bad now that the traitors are moving on. Personally I want these guys gone now. They just aren't worth having around the club.

Give it a rest please Mac, that crap ain't funny.

I am hearing strong mail that Mac's NRL Rumours has been shut down as a result of an internal supression order issued by Willow.

The boy who cried wolf, strikes again.

I 'll believe anything you say when it is official, until then for me all you say is BS.

Mahe Fonua never seemed that fast to me, stand corrected though.

Hiku you wouldn't touch with a barge pole, saw him play last week and for some reason took particular notice - all I got from the viewing was - he is a dud. Nowhere near as good as Whare GNR unfortunately.

If we end up with a backline of Nofa, Fonua, Suli, Idris or Hiku….. We wouldn't run out of sight on a dark night in the blue mountains. To complement that you would need the fastest full back in the world.

I know quite a few Manly supporters and they were all happy to see the back of Hiku.

Yeah, i dont rate him much either
I rather Keep Naiqama over him should we be forced to pick on.
Regardless of Kevin's error on field he doesnt disappear. Instead always willing to go forward and help the team. Sadly i think we see Hiku's better side in winning games, when his team is down and out i havent really seen him stand out and make it count

He outrun barba one game.

Him and nofo are like two extra forwards.

I think fonua is at rumour stage so wouldn't be banking on him just yet

With hiku you have remember his form at manly which I recall him being a really tough winger doing some miraculous things. So maybe with the right coaching would come good again. He does not seem happy at pamfers.

There are a lot of unhappy players at Penrith , it could be a very good pick up area for us , but Hiku is a no thanks he just doesn't look first grade material
