Simona on the move

Not saying that he is an ordinary player, but I would move Ava on. Just think that we have enough depth in the middle to cover the loss, does not play huge minutes and there are plenty of clubs out there that could use a front rower.

I do think the same when I see JJ almost play a similar game.
But don't underestimate the value of Ava. Alot of our forward momentum is built off his runs. One more year with feline plying his trade in state cup maybe. But right now we need a prop like ava!

That was a reply to willow's comment on Rankin, I'm a real fan of Tim and I hope he stays.

As Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon would say; If Wests Tigers let Tim Simona go that would be a dumb deal. Swapping Simona for Copely would be even dumber.

Out of our rotation props , Grants the oldest and will most likely be the one to go first when Paseka or whoever is next to come through our system.
I can't understand why they would want to move Simona on or trade him. shift someone who's unlikely to make it at NRL level first. Ie Rankin, JLJ, Lovett, Hunt, ect. I know they wouldn't be on as much as Simona but maybe let a few of these guys go before a genuine NRL player.

Even if you get takers and there is any value, you then have multiple players to replace.

Copley reminds me of Blake Ayshford… Never lets you down, but never sets the world on fire.

Surely we can swap Simona for Mitchell?

Doesn't he have a problem with injuries?
I seem to remember him copping a fair few injuries?

Grain of salt stuff…

1Tigers have their backs to the wall
Wests Tigers have offered Parramatta the services of star centre Tim Simona for this season.

But the Eels have said “thanks but no thanks” - we want David Nofoaluma instead.
\
\
The Tigers continue to have salary cap problems, while the Eels have cash to spend and are looking for one more outside back.

The two clubs are at a stalemate, however, over Simona and Nofoaluma.

Wests Tigers are happy to let Simona change colours, but the Eels have their eye on dynamic centre/winger Nofoaluma.

It’s unlikely that the Tigers will let Nofoaluma go, however, and the club will have to look elsewhere to solve its salary cap woes.

It is absolutely ludicrous to think we still have Salary Cap issues with the squad we have .

If your a Teddy or a Woods how in the Hell does our Club look appealing to re-sign when your still trying to offload a player 4 weeks before the Comp starts ? We are paying another Club to take Farah of us , trying to get Simona of our books when you don't even know how Idris will go :unamused: , don't know who will be Coaching us from 2018 onwards .
Seriously what can you offer these players to convince them that there future lies here ?
Let's be honest you can't expect Loyalty from players when you have demonstrated that you don't give that in return , trying to offload Simona that isn't Loyalty he signed a Contract in good faith and now your searching for a Club for him ? This Organisation makes me sick.

It's us suckers that fork out money year after year and hear the dribble the Club pledges for us fans to listen to .

Teddy , Woods and Moses look out for yourself cause when it comes to the crunch this Club will shop you around when they deem your surplus to requirements .

You sure they are offloading Simona FT..

Ok Titans then Roosters Then Parra in the space of a week…

seems legit..

I agree with those supporting Simona. He is our best centre by a long way and we can't afford to lose him. Losing him would mean that Rankin would definitely be on the wing again - right now I see a chance for Kev to move onto the wing with Idris and Simona as centres. The alternative is Kev and Idris in the centres with Rankin on that wing - to me that looks a lot weaker than the former option.

How much is Ballin's contract being subsidised by Manly this year? Is Grant's contract being subsidised? It seems player such as Simona who have been with the Balmain and WTs get shafted.

At the moment we would probably be paying 1m to let former players play against us(Robbie and Sirro).Rumours suggest we still have to offload another player and subsidize them off course. How incompetent are our management team to sign players during the off season knowing they are over the cap.Morons

A chap who works in the Titans Corporate area tells me Titans are keen in striking a deal with Simona and his led to believe it's agreeing on how many years . Apparently Simona is wanting 3 years and Titans are offering only 2 years .
Anyway who knows it's probably all here say .

I'm just pissed off how our Club is run and how it treats it's players . I tell you one thing though if my son asks for Teddy's name on his Jersey sure as Hell it's not happening as you don't know one Day to the next with our Club.

Rant over :rant

I'm surprised the NRL would allow Taylor's and Idris' contracts to be registered if we are over.

Are some components of the media perhaps getting mixed up on the meaning of "salary cap issues"?
Interpretation #1 - Tigers are over the cap by $X for 2017 and need to shed a salary right now.
Interpretation #2 - Tigers want to do long-term deals for a value that will put them over the cap in the near to long future.

I may have missed it, but I haven't read anything concrete from a reliable source that Tigers are indeed officially over the cap in 2017.
