Starford To’a #253

Really disappointed in To'a to start the season. He has had the ability to be as good as the likes of Tago, May, Staggs etc but not sure if he has their same level of desire, commitment & work ethic to harness his talent.

We have a few others in a similar boat.

Makes we wonder whether the club should invest in a sports psychologist to help these young guys develop.
Toa is no more than a fringe first grader and we need to be aiming higher if we want to compete. If only Makasini was a couple of years older....

Something to consider is To’a has a big left foot step that we don’t get to see as we always play him on the right.
Of course that doesn’t excuse his missed tackles.

If he has the ability to be as good he would be.
He has 61 NRL games under his belt.
He doesn’t have the same ability & it isn’t even close.

I agree with BWG. I understand not every junior standout kicks on but To'a as an outside back was miles ahead of everyone else in his age group. He debuted early based on his ability, however quickly fell out of favour at Newcastle reportedly due to a very poor work ethic. The hope was a change of clubs might instill a desire to knuckle down and make the most of his talents. Alas, this doesn't appear to be the club for someone to do so.
