As you may have heard a town in Qld near Gayndah was hit by a 5.2 earthquake earlier this week will now probably get hit by a cyclone at Cat 1 level

Can't be too many places that can make that claim

Only in QLD eh Hap?

I'm pretty sure they would prefer to be avoiding this altogether

Homes hundreds of Kms from the ocean aren't built to deal with even remnants of cyclones

The damage at places like Rockhampton ,Biloela ,Moura ,Monto and Gayndah could be worse than Yeppoon

If people want to get an idea of the sort of figures that the cyclone is throwing out check this out

Type Elders forecast Samuel hill ap site

Some pretty impressive numbers

Cqtiger , get a 6 pack from the fridge in your Garage, Laptop on your Lap playing the 2005 Grand Final  .

Look at the bright side you haven't got young ones in your ear

Stay safe and dry…..The only reason the weather Gods deliver this sort of weather is because no one else could deal with it.....Go Queensland...

I take that back, stupid idea when there is no power .

Hopefully it all ends quickly and power can be restored as soon as possible… 😛ray: are with you all...

Sounds like the iconic Strand Hotel at Yeppoon lost part of its roof Unofficial though

Is it just me , but should Brisbane be concerned that Wivenhoe Dam is at 77 % with all the rain they are getting with the low and then the remnants of the cyclone heading that way also

Last thing we need is a repeat of 2010 / 2011 floods

Um FT i'm drinking CCs
We have activated our emergency plan and are now downstairs playing Uno.

I can't load photos from my iphone but I just lost my garden shed. It basically just blew out.

In the 80s we lived near Yeppoon and a cyclone passed up north of shoalwater bay. But nothing like this - the wind is extreme and it's not peaked yet.

All safe though

Just ignore my stupidity CQ .
It would be never ending waiting for time to pass with no power , but my comment is not funny at all .

Stay safe mate .

Relax FT…everyone knows your lighthearted post was in the right spirit....in dire times a bit of laughter or humour is necessary

Stay safe everyone up there

FT no worries mate a bit of banter is all good. Nearing end if the eye and winds getting up again.

Took a stroll outside while it was quiet. Branch from tree next door took out my letterbox. Spoke to a lot of neighbours - they all seem ok. A few garden sheds gone, a couple of awnings and nearly every tree in the vicinity is either uprooted or damaged. A lot of cleanup for everyone.

Happy, hopefully it subsides a lot before reaching Gladstone. Good luck mate.

Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts.
The best group of people on the best forum.

Thank you all
