THE 4......THREAD

I rate Moses much higher than Brooks.

Moses can cover 3 positions and to me is much more of a leader than Brooks. Just me.

Was hoping we would keep Moses/Teddy

Moses is a million dollar no6, that has no long kicking game, has a poor attacking short kicking game, can't tackle, when under pressure goes for very low percentage plays and can't close a game out and thinks he is the ants pants…..give me Brooks any day, okay he might have weaknesses in all of the above but he doesn't swagger around thinking he is the next Joey Johns

The board and CEO should resign or be sacked. Brooks was the only player out of the "Big Four" that if lost to another club would not have impacted us that much IMO, yet this dud is the only one we managed to secure. Moses gone, teddy gone, Woodsy gone… half a dozen others will probably follow suit as the club made these guys a priority for negotiations.
We have to rebuild this club almost from scratch now as we are losing some big big players. May as well do it right and get a new board and CEO too otherwise this circus will continue for years to come.

I really cant see how the Board/CEO are to blame for this mess we found ourselves in.

The CEO tabled Board approved offers to the 4 back in October last year…The offers were very competitive and not much different to the revised offers they recently tabled.

The 4 players and their management from October on wards strung the CEO and the Club along without any inkling to commit....Thinking they were stalling due to the Coach (JT), the CEO and Board sacked JT as soon as they could, just to appease these 4...And if you recall Woods was leading the chorus that he wanted to know the direction of the club before signing...so the Board and CEO sacked JT and appointed the respected Ivan Cleary for the next 3.5 years....(Direction that Woods was seeking!)...but obviously that was never going to appease these 4 or be good enough.....cause all along their only objective was to string along the WT, create all this media hype about where they will sign and end up...to the point of getting the other clubs interested in tabling a mammoth offer...

So folks as you can see the big 4 have intentionally strung the WT along with no intentions of ever signing with us....if only the WT put a deadline on March 1 on the October offers, then this thing would not have played out in the media as it has...

Mate, the recruitment policy has been to retain the big 4\. We moved on players of the calibre of Robbie Farah and Blake Austin to let these big 4 develop and run the team. Then we fail to sign 3 out of the four! Its one thing to lose players when you're going to be over the cap, but if you're entire plan is based on building a team around four blokes and you fail to sign three of them then what???
There's got to be accountability and it starts at the top!

Your right if you work on the assumption that all 4 wanted to stay with the club, but are departing due to mismanagement of their contracts or what … But in hindsight its clear the only one that has WT burning in his stomach was Brooks...

Gee i hate it when people bag out Brooks, it's disrespectful to call him a DUD, i hope he makes you eat your words and becomes a premier half…hate your post 'sporthead'...maybe your name should be '****head' instead.

I can play the insult game too buddy!
Brooks IMO was the weakest of the "big 4". I hope he proves me wrong too! I'm not death riding the team. I think its very poor management when you make 4 blokes a priority for retention and only end up signing the "weakest" out of the 4!

In your opinion of course.

This hopeless board, together with the previous hopeless boards, are EXACTLY to blame.
Our club has been a joke for years!
I like Brooks but at the moment he wouldn't be able to get a decent offer anywhere else so, in the end, jumped at the chance to stay.

IMO because Brooks form has been so scratchy I don't think there were many clubs queuing for his signature.

So that has worked in our favour….he have managed to keep him without paying OVERS for him. Hopefully now he can just kick on under a decent coach and maybe a few players around him who want to be there.

His form was down for a couple of reasons.

1\. At one stage he was injured.

2\. I would be pretty sure JT made Moses the playmaker and the kicker after five. Therefore Brooks hardly ever got the ball at the end of the set.

3\. Moses has a very dominant personality and just would have overruled any call Brooks would have made on the field.

4\. He also did not get the ball quickly and in good position (especially when Farah was DH), it has to be said that Moses didn't either.

Have a look (if you can't remember) at the way Brooks played for the first 18 months he spent in the NRL - nothing short of excellent. You don't forget how to play like that. There were people in the know who suggested that Brooks and Moses never played well when together.
We will now be able to see that in action when Moses does eventually go.

DUD - I don't think so ….Cleary will make a top half out of this little guy. He did a pretty good job on Nathan ... no reason to suspect he won't do it with Luke.

He didn't get any offers from other clubs - how do we know - pure conjecture.

I for one (a former Moses supporter) am certainly glad that Brooks signed with us.

I too rate Moses higher, just not an extra fifty odd percent of salary higher.

Have you forgotten that the head of football operations and recruitment exposed himself and got the arse over the off season, and even he wasn't here when Austin was already with the Raiders.

Wests Tigers Statement

When Wests Tigers met with Aaron Woods and James Tedesco’s Manager on Tuesday a deadline of 5pm Friday was set to secure certainty for the club.

That deadline has now passed and Wests Tigers is yet to receive any official confirmation from the pair’s manager.

As a result Wests Tigers has removed the current long-term contract offers that were with their Management.

Wests Tigers are proud of everything Aaron and James have achieved and will continue to achieve throughout the season at this club.
