The pack

8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Keith Galloway
11\. Martin Taupau
12\. Curtis Sironen
13\. Sauoso Sue

14\. Ava Seumanufagai
15\. Matthew Lodge
16\. Lamar Liolevave
17\. Sitaleki Akaoula

Watch the video of Taupau from Bonstonker. Have no doubts Marty couldn't make it as a destructive backrower./lock He would be an absolute handful on the edges for backrowers and centres in defence and has an offload in his game. He would need to work on his passing game, but he doesn't lack speed for a big bloke and has a decent motor and could push up front if need be. Sitaleki and Lamar to come on and add fresh pressure. Lodge could come on for Sue/Galloway/Woods and Ava to replace Keith or Woods. Still a massive bench and Sitaleki could also cover outside back injuries.

This pack to me looks really good. I'd still play Taupau at lock and Sue off the bench simply because Taupau can then simply play as a 3rd prop. Its no change to his game. I like the look of this pack though.

As for the comparisons between this pack and other Tigers packs I think this pack is a lot better than the 05 pack and probably any other pack we've had. Its bigger and tougher.

I put Taupau on the edge because I think he'll go great there and having Sue as a starter provides us with a massive pack to start the game and get us plenty of yards early in the game compared to starting with a Halatau or Santi who is much smaller and would offer less impact.

WOODS TO LOCK HE HAS A BIGGER ENGINE THAN ANY ONE ELSE IN THE SIDE, THINK HE WOULD BE GREAT THERE.

I just think we need to play a prop at lock and a prop to replace him on the bench. Sue to me plays up the middle and suits that bench role perfectly.

Guys I noticed Matt Lodge's profile has him down as a prop/lock, so if that profile is on the money and he has the motor then why not throw the beast the number 13?

I also think Taupau's 2014 form warrants a starting position in place of Galloway. Yes Galloway will always make metres but arguably, despite his size, the opposition forwards do not fear him.

So for what it's worth my starting packing next year would be…

8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Taupau
11\. Sue
12\. Siro
13\. Lodge

I think you really have taupau and galloway back to front….Galloway offers no impact and the impact taupau provides would be lessened at the beginning of games when everyones fresh

I know when a benchie comes on ppl say hes a fresh man against tiring opps,....when in reality most ppl saying this forget oppositions usually put on a fresh bloke or two at similar times as the other team

Galloway offers no impact from the bench - impact is what we need midway thru the halves....dunno if Lodge has the legs for 80 yet

stevetiger, I'm with you. I would run with the same pack and bench. Sitaleki can plug a centre position if required.

8\. Aaron Woods
9\. Robbie Farah
10\. Keith Galloway
11\. Martin Taupau
12\. Curtis Sironen
13\. Sauoso Sue

14\. Ava Seumanufagai
15\. Matthew Lodge
16\. Lamar Liolevave
17\. Sitaleki Akaoula

I hope there are a couple of up and comers from our forwards reserves to bolster the existing pack, a couple of blokes wanting to step up and make a name for themselves because the existing pack is going to need support as the season rolls on. In the main the starting pack, as most have tipped, looks ok but just how well they will match others remains to be seen, hoping for the best but could be a tough ask.

There's always one Forward that finishes of the year with there names on our lips , this year was Taupau next year i'm tipping Lamar and Lodge to be on everyone's lips.
Lodge needs to be signed ASAP beyond 2015 if not it could cost us a lot more to keep him , once the year is up and running.

Lodge >
Up and coming BEAST.

Also, tipping K. Naiqama to impress next year.
(Next year is tmrw…)

Happy 2015 to all forumers!.
8\. Woods
10\. K.G
11\. Santi
12\. Sirro
13\. Taupou

14\. Ava
15\. Lodge
16\. Sue
17\. Akoula
Taupou could play both sides of the ruck. Exploiting holes in attack.,Akoula could fill in either the backs or forwards. Santi playing a similar role to the way Fulton played.

My pack would be to start the year :

8\. Woods
10\. K.G
11\. Sirro
12\. Akoula
13\. Halatau

14\. Ava
15\. Lodge
16\. Taupau
17\. Liolevave

18.Sue

1.I would give K.G the Prop Position to start the year but if form is not warranted have no problem to start with Lodge.
2.I wouldn't go with a 11.Santi 12\. Sirro 13.Sue , to many similar roles .
3.Halatau needs to be there for his experience and direction , i believe.
4.Liolevave has to be in the 17 , people are going to be pleasantly surprised just how good he is .
5\. Taupau impact of the bench is what suits him best , i reckon.

Pre Season still needs to be played , so there is going to be a lot experiment .

Happy New Year to all WT supporters :sign:

My forwards combo is:

8 Woods (194cm/109kg)
9 Farah (179cm/89kg)
10 Seumanufagai (185cm/114kg)
11 Sue (182cm/107kg)
12 Sironen (195cm/104kg)
13 Santi (187cm/101kg)

14 Galloway (195cm/112kg)
15 Taupau (190cm/112kg)
16 Lodge (193cm/110kg)
17 Akauola (192cm/98kg)

18 Liolevave (185cm/112kg)/Funaki (182cm/103kg)

Santi must be there as he is our best (w Farah) 80 minutes/40+ tackle forward - natural replacement for Fulton.
Sita to rotate with Sue and Sironen - he is very good ball player, and with Siro sufficiantly strong and fast to play roles similar to Ellis/Dwyer. Halatau comes in only after Liolevave and Funaki, as he is simply too slow/small.(175/95), he is not our impact player.
Woods and Ava to start and rotate with Lodge, Taupau and Galloway.

Go Tigers

The one on one defence of Ava and Sue is just not good enough to start them in matches. They both try really hard but in my opinion they are just not consistent enough. Here in lies our problem as we don't have anyone else to fill this role.

Halatau is experienced but too small and the bigger packs will run at him all day…when they are not running at our halves.

I have no solution, this is how I see it and why I believe we will finish bottom 3 on the table.

you're right but i believe in what we've done so far- chuck em in the deep end and then whatever will be, will be.

we have a lot of weaknesses and we simply dont have the money or resources to go out and buy out our weaknesses- just give em time and hope it works.
