The punters/Tim Grant

Look I think it is as good as we are going to get for this time of the year (signing) unless your the Broncos .
He is a Bargain signing with very little risk for us, so people should just chill and give Tim a fair go.
He is in the same boat as JT….will need to perform to prove his worth and any chance of being retained past 2017.

Tim Grant got Released
It's our gain
They didn't want him
He comes to us with point to prove
If he came on a good deal , good for us
He will show his worth , he don't have a choice
But he has a point to prove and if all pans out
Win win tigers

Impossible for me to see any negative about this. We've picked up a player whose played Origin for most likely next to nothing. At 27 his best days are arguably are ahead of him. Sometimes players just need a change of scenery to find their feet again, we have a pretty good recent history for that happening to players we sign fwiw.

Tim Grant said that the reason behind his dip of form was the fewer minutes he was playing, apparently WT have offered him the opportunity to play more minutes, imagine he hits his NSW form and we have Woods and Grant playing 60 minutes a game at top form.

Good God

Would be good wouldn't it. Even better if we also get klemmer in '17.

I'll miss him a bit, reckon he's a good player milky just think he's way more effective from the bench. Will be interesting to see how he goes once the interchange rules are down to 6 or whatever they want to get it to

In today's SMH it stated that Eddie Farah at Souths was treating Grant's bulged disc in the back. Grant very happy with result but makes me wonder if he can really hold out?

I know it won't be popular but i don't see this signing as a major coup. Yes he played a couple of origin games in 2012 and this is the time in his career when he should be at the top of his game but for me he has regressed dramatically since then. The Panthers dropped him to NSW Cup, he got limited time at the bunnies and for me gives away far too many silly penalties. I can't see him getting anymore minutes here than he did at souths, i'm guessing 20-25 a game. All this talk of signing origin players is a bit much, Matt Ballin played 1 game when Cameron Smith was out in 2010 and Tim Grant hasn't been mentioned for over three years and hasn't been relevant in the NRL either for this period. Whilst i agree both are solid players neither is going to make our starting 13 and Grant might be the only 1 to make the 17 so I wouldn't get too excited about these signings. The only good things that have come out of these signings is the depth has improved and for both players their old teams are paying part of their wages which is a welcome change.

I am raped with this signing hopefully he gets back to his best and can be a beast. He is just what we needed and what we wanted.

Good effort mate you have posted the quote of 2016 winner already and its only 9 days in :master:

Thanks Swaggy. Now No one can doubt your commitment to the WTs.
BTW was he a "beast and back to his best"? Like you hoped

I don't think anyone is thinking we have a world beater on our hands. However most seem stoked that we havnt paid overs or got someone in a position where we don't need one. Given our financial situation re cap space, this signing can only work in the WTs favour and if it doesn't work out we haven't lost anything to substantial.
Even (at worst ) if he his playing State Cup in 2017 giving all our young props a mentor to train with it's still worthwhile IMO. In a year or twos time Grant will be competing with Griffin, MaConnachie, Graham ect if they go past him ..so be it. This signing only strengths WTs forwards for the immediate future.

The quote is so good you should just give me the honour already. Don't bother waiting the rest of the year.

BBF: we will give you the benefit of the doubt on this one - stop blushing

Goes without saying this is a great signing. We've assembled quite a formidable pack. One that opponents won't take lightly. Taylor has copped heaps and probably most of it deserved in terms of his game plans, but his recruitment shouldn't be questioned in my opinion. He's definitely building his team. I hope it works out for him. We have a lot to look forward to this year now. Exciting times ahead I think.

Agree…Our team is much better in 2016 than 2015, despite the losses.....very astute buying considering our CAP situation... ...given the extra years experience by the young "guns" and the coaching staff and providing Farah keeps his mind on the job and nose out of the press and we don't get hit hard by injuries we should go all right in 2016
