Can anyone explain what Mark O'Neill's history, background and resume demonstrates to suggest he is a football manager?

Had a lot of respect for Toad as a player but if this eventuates then its dead simple stupid
Because Barret has got manly to win a couple of games doesn't mean Todd can get the same happening for us

He will get NO respect from majority of the playing group

Get a proven coach or stick with JT for now

Seriously If I were JT I'd be putting the broom through this side….They simply dont respect or follow the HEAD Coaches instructions....they all need a course in Primadona school.

Seriously, he won't even drop the non performers, let alone get rid of them.
Tuesday night team sheet ended any hope Taylor had of getting some respect, too late too bad time to go.
Whilst I would love Toovey or Cleary, if Payten took over for the rest of the year then so be it.

Taylor has the power to save his job (for perhaps a bit longer) but picking the same non performers and delivering the same results for another couple of weeks will put him out for good

It might solve our cap problems. O'Neill offers Payten a $1.7m a year contract due to his potential and outstanding record as an under 20s coach (despite the fact that not many of the players he coached have proven themselves as 1st graders), Robbie retires and becomes an assistant coach, who seeing the success of Toddy's white anting immediately embarks on the same program to get rid of him. Thank god we still have an independent board, if Pascoe or O'Neill dare to present this as an idea, they should both be sacked with no payout due to demonstrated incompetence.

Maybe buckets is crazy like a fox and 'leaked' this info about the club being interested in Payten to make Cleary think there is competition for the gig, whereas in reality any respected coach would be crazy to take on the head coach role at this club other than for a boat load of money. Who am I kidding, it's probably true.

If and its a big if, Payten was appointed and actually did a Good job with the team and
Got them all running in the one direction, all this critism would die off, and he'd suddenly be the best thing since sliced bread.
Anyway the chances of it all happening are very slim if The Lurker is involved

Great move WT's , sign another rookie NRL coach and this one with no senior coaching experience

I really hope why people understand now I wish we never went within coeee of Buckets , another one of these back to the future moments

Should have kept Potter, at least he had the balls to bench Benjie and give him a reality check, only wanted to sign Farah for 2 years which would have saved us a lot of dramas and cap dollars.
Poor bloke never got a chance to choose his squad or assistants, had Mayer constantly putting the knife in his back, had bugger all strength and conditioning or rehab facilities and in the end it was injuries that killed his season.

Give Toovey a crack, Folkes as assistant.

Having Folkes back would be great. Especially if he could entice some of his hard hitting ladies to pull on a jumper there's opportunity aplenty once JT has gone.

Good people skills and the ability to motivate players can determine success or failure.

That's very true P&C. And I have no doubt that Todd has very good people skills - at least for the younger generation.

Like I said, I rated him as a 20's coach when he was here but it's all way too risky to think about a return with him being inexperienced and his ties with the former players still at the club.

I would be as stoked as anyone if it did work out, and I'd actually like to see Todd coach here but not yet. He's too inexperienced and I just can't see it being anything else than a long shot to work. Maybe it would, but it would be an experiment and that's the last thing we need in our current state!!
