Wests Tigers Team v Cronulla Rd 3

We require marked improvement from the Leiluas.

Also, Rowdy has been a great clubman but I think it's harsh on MCK to miss out.

I can totally understand why Chee Kam is missing out. Was poor in the trials and didn’t do much in his first grade games. Lawrence was solid as usual so Chee Kam didn’t really do enough to earn that spot over him. Further into the season he’ll be back.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Twally play 80 minutes or close to it. It helps both our second rowers are capable of big minutes as well. Seyfarth will probably go to lock and shift Twal to prop.

Thompson plays his heart out but he’s too short on the wing, a bit shakey under the high ball and isn’t super fast. Jennings might not have his attacking prowess but he’s a good defender and rarely drops a kick, he’s the safer option and with a right side of madmen who love playing risky football the safe option on the left is probably smartest

Thompson really played himself out of his spot the first two games.

I totally agree, he was very poor in the first 2 games

Robbie Farah spoke on the NRL teams... he was very surprised Corey was left out

in his own words he said

"i would have 17 thompsons week in week out"

*yes farah that is 1 way to get the wooden spoon*

If we had 17 Corey Thompson's with heart every game he plays no way we get the spoon..

Yeah hard to believe Thompson gets the chop simply because he’s too small, if that’s the reason he isn’t there of course. Jennings on the other hand maybe bigger, but I haven’t seen him play a decent game with us yet! Madge certainly likes him, but I really can’t see what the attraction is.

Solid defensively, better under the high ball, just as fast, way better in the air. He’s the safe option compared to Thompson who had a poor start to the year and it seems to me the team is based a lot off those first two rounds and training.

Just read an interesting stat, Lawrence has played 242 games of NRL, more than the rest of our entire forward pack who have played 236 collectively. Besides Rowdy, Garner is the next oldest at 25.

It’s a young exciting forward pack Madge is building with more young talented forwards coming through in the coming years.

How good is this!

Nice team, shame about the bench.

As many have said it maybe in anticipation of the impact the rule changes are going to have on the game?

We’ve got to keep these guys together for a few years. Not let the likes of the Rorters swoop and take the best talent. We have the makings of a very good pack.

I agree. Add in Stefano next year and we are building very nicely.

I found it interesting earlier tonight - we are unearthing yet another junior whilst across town in latte land the Rorters are ruing the Xerri situation as that’s one they wanted and won’t be able to steal. We give, Rorters take. It needs to somehow change.

Just watching a replay of NRL 360 where they’re discussing team line ups. The Tigers forward pack got a massive plug surprisingly from Paul Crawley and Pooper who are both usually quite negative about us. They singled out Mikaele and Aloiai. Ben Ikin said he was impressed with Twal. The main player spoken about by the panel was Harry Grant. They thought it was a good move to throw him straight in rather than easing off the bench... Good to see some positivity from the journos for once. Now we just have to back it up on the park.

Height

Seyfarth is extremely effective running the ball when the dummy half is awake to when he runs to the gap around the ruck. Harry Grant will make a huge difference to Seyfarth's effectiveness with the ball.

Can anyone see Talau getting a run if Mbye and BJ stay fit all year?

He is my first choice if injuries do happen

I read that as well, although I thought it was the entire forward pack and the bench?

I could see him replacing Jennings. Like most here Im not a fan of Jennings, but I can see that he does a job for Madge. His job is to be a big body, safer under high balls, maybe dirty carries. I prefer Cory but can definitely see why Madge has Jennings there.

Madge obviously is looking for slicker , faster forwards

I still think you need some size to get field position and help getting some dominance in defence

Very surprised in regards to Musgrove

You will need defenders who can make first contact dominance to help stop getting your side rolled up the guts every set
