Where do we go now?

Ive said it before and i'll say it again (broken record) The club doesn't stand for anything! We are Rugby Leagues nomads and until we change that we will keep getting the same culture over and over and over......

I just see that as another excuse for players not performing well enough. You can can blame culture, accepting mediocrity etc but the roster is not good enough to compete consistently against better ones - and there are arguably at least eight of those.
No team with Packer, Reynolds, Mybe - and have to add Brooks in his current form - as their biggest money earners could considered top eight standard in 2020.
Under the same home ground circumstances in 2005/10/11 We had a team of players that competed and achieved a level of success - then we we entered the aftermath of salary cap stuff up orchestrated by Humphries/Sheens, board division, and series of unfortunate events all too well discussed over and over again.
We are now financially sound, we havnt had any stability since Sheens to build a decent roster and Cleary left us with another road block to overcome hence our current predicament - that's how I see it.

Normally I have a long rant post loss...

But I have nothing. We have tried all approaches and none have worked. Our goal line D is appalling. One set and we crack. Madge has talked about resolve and character, but there is absolutely no proof of that.

Benji has had 20 good mins in two months, but the club will probably trot him out for positive PR all week.

AD and Liddle tons of heart, but the senior players are serial non winners. Roosters had half a team out today.

When it gets tough, or a game is needed...we just are rarely ever in the battle mentally.

How do we change the culture?

Its time for us to wake up.....rid the club of all the older players and start a clean slate with some of the younger players at the club- (they can't do any worse than this lot)- perhaps try and get some up and comers from other clubs.
But I can see that not many would wish to come here,I can now see why Matterson, Moses & co moved on if we are not careful they will all want to move on and we will end up without a club.
Oh dear we are such a difficult club to stay positive with- I can't believe how this year (in more ways than one) has turned out, I thought we didn't start off too badly, our defence was pretty good, and on the whole we do some good things but obviously not enough to win games.😕

Surley now we blood Madden and Simpkin and start looking towards next year

I would be reluctant to do that when they haven't played any football for pretty much 12 months.

Not both at once ....Liddle needs lots of footy and with the news Harry think's he is back next week maybe Madden off the bench for the last 5 weeks

I think its hard to drop a young player into a side, that is performing poorly, to debut when he hasn't played in 12 months.

You’re right about the CEO....... but he has never answered for it.

The forum would be a wild old place the day the CEO refuses to sign off on the football departments requests.

I had a conversation with Pascoe at a function where he told me he couldn’t wait til 2017 was over and we had all this Cap Space. He employed Cleary, they were great friends, how did he not know that Cleary harbored a desire to Coach his son. He oversaw LONG TERM DEALS on injury prone Reynolds and Matulino. He personally hampered our Cap with the Farah debacle.
He and the Football Dept. have been inept for years, if anyone thinks they have done well, why do we never make Semis and don’t look likely to for a minimum 2 years longer?

If things are going crap you leave him on the bench and let the 16 muddleheads suffer by themselves

All our football smarts come and go with the head coach. There's no football knowledge in the club itself.

I hope he is, but would we be so confident about him if his previous club was the titans? We don't really know much about him or his track record.

Well whats his achievements so far ......AJ Kepeoa

Recruitment ...on field performance .....

Like all supporters,it is extremely hard to find any positives about the teams current predicament.
Player performance and recruitment for the future has left supporters with a great deal of
disappointment and frustration.
Despite this, the tigers have won four more games than Canterbury. The media always portrays
the tigers as perennial underachievers - Canterbury always gets the wrap as a team which are full of triers.
They seem to have escaped negative media attention for their onfield performances.
The Tigers seem to be the medias whipping boys.
Manly also seem to escape media scrutiny .Broncos and the cowboys have underachieved but would cop more
criticism in their own state.
Cronulla have a couple more wins than the tigers but they have won the premiership once since 1967- in 53
years,not a great strike rate.
Wests tigers have performance issues, but they aren't robinson crusoe.
Greater minds than mine are in charge of the team
I will watch the game against the panthers and cheer for every positive from the tigers team .I l will watch every game
until the end of the year and follow this forum regularly.- cause that's what we do.

Its a problem with Simpkin - now that Liddle is fit and killing it do you tell Grant his services are no longer needed if he is going back to Melbourne. Cruels his chance in Dally M and SOO but we get to blood Simpkin and see if he has got it at NRL. And if we do start giving Simpkin a run he will still only be 19 at the start of next year and will be a backup at best.

Simpkin won't get a run this year.

Could be worse. Could be Manly.

Or could be the Brincos !!!!!
Starts with the half’s combination nil game management? Have to ? Coach selections.
We need Benji to come out and state he is retiring as I see him as a ball hog that does little and his defence is terrible.
If Benji does big come out club should state we are not renewing your contract in the media

Well have to agree with the points raised there had been nil accountability with the CEO, he looks scruffy unshaven when interviewed and is unprofessional and not a great look.
He was appointed in 2015 to turn the club around that means making the 8 it has not happened.
They stats the Tigers were financially sound last year however that can easily be attributed to juggling things around between the balance sheet. I think his time is up and should have been after the Robbie Farah salary cap penalty that has cost us the last 2 years.
