Where do you want us to play?

@gallagher I will accept ANZ, but would just prefer a ground that we could at least half fill!

I agree, that's why I said if the lower bowl is 40k and the top is curtained then it might be good.

The place really needs the bulldozer and then started again!

We need to have an identity and sharing grounds with other clubs hinders that chance of creating an identity. Stick to CSS and as @GNR4LIFE said with the games going to LO like the bulldogs do with Belmore.

Crowds at CSS are pretty underwhelming. Doesn't break 10k very often. In my opinion CSS is not the answer.

There was about 16k against the Dogs in round 3. Standing room only. If you have a combination of a winning team and a good timeslot, low Ctown crowds are a myth.

Sure it's a myth?

Yeah, it needed it more than allianz.

BW ave ended up at 15k. I expected higher but it's not bad considering.

Train station next to the ground, great club next door, warm up and training ground next door, three car parks, one undercover and a great playing surface.

With a winning team, I am confident that it would be capacity at most games.

@colinbh I feel we need a fresh start with a new home ground.
Abandon LO and Cambelltown so we can move on from the foundation clubs once and for all.
Both are past their used by dates and we have a new identity.

Why did you time it?

Because I was curious of how long it actually took and as I suspected it was longer than indicated. That’s from entrance to entrance. From the gates of the station until the gates of the stadium.

You timed it for one reason and one reason only, so when it was brought up here you could use it as an argument. Really shows the attitude that you went to the game with to begin with doesn't it? Looking for your arguments before you even made it to the ground! lol

You have no idea what you are talking about. The forum was the furthest from my mind. Grow up will you. Gees.

Maybe the curtain will happen, maybe not. I think it’s more likely to be seen as a necessity in a bigger stadium though.

The SFS is starting to use up the budget for ANZ!

We average 18k at Homebush, I think we can grow on that if we ever have one stadium home ground. A bit of success would help too but, well you know…

So our crowds need to jump by about 33% to allow us to have some atmosphere, even if the build comes out as we hope?

if you want atmosphere you are following the wrong sport ...league fans have always been dull .
It doesn’t matter where a home team plays if they are losing there is no atmosphere.
In general , Australian crowds are always crap especially when losing !
Can’t beat the EPL for atmosphere
#needmorepoms

WHU are the exception , we lose but we have atmosphere

A half full Stadium can have atmosphere ...Suncorp proves that .......they just need to be built for that particular sport

Regardless you went to the ground with a negative attitude, you were trying to find a negative from the time you left the station.

Seriously ...aren't we all at the moment .....sick of wasting my last remaining brain cells trying to find positives in an obviously negative situation

Far easier to call it as it is

You do know that the overall average crowds at Ctown and LO are really similar yeah? Only a 2 or 3k difference.

You still have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea what my attitude was at all. I was very positive, by the way, about our chances. You are making it all up to fit your narrative. You are looking rather foolish now. All I did was time the walk from the gates of parra station to the gates of the stadium and back so I could see how long it took me to get there. Nothing more and nothing less. Don’t try and make it any more than that. It just so happened that when someone said it was five minutes walk I knew it took me longer. But hey never let the facts get in the way of your narrative.

As a complete outsider, having never been to any of these grounds, I find this poll interesting because it shows the spread of opinion from fans that participate in this forum. However it does not narrow our options in any real way.
From my perspective, we need one ground full stop. So from this poll, I would be interested to see another that lists only say the top three single sites chosen in this poll. I.E. boil the whole thing down by making people choose a single site even if it is the 'best of the worst'.

It shows the traditional grounds are where the fans would prefer to watch our home games.
The club probably knows that too.

I may have read too much into your post but I do find it a weird thing to time the walk when you arw in the way to a footy game, especially doing so 3 times.

I also find it strange people would want us to play in a stadium that we struggle to 25% fill when there is a stadium with a more appropriate size 15 mins away.

That was my intention eventually, the whole idea with this poll was two fold: to see if there was real traction to play out of BankWest or a redeveloped SFS and whether playing out of both or either traditional home grounds would be well received.

Neither outcome was surprising to me. As it stands 63% of the votes are happy for us to play out of either or both home grounds in some capacity, and 28% want us to play out of ANZ fulltime or in some capacity.

Only 6 out of 90 votes want to play at BankWest fulltime, and only further 7 in some capacity (unless they of course prefer ANZ.)

The reality is that most of us want to see us play out of one or both of the traditional home grounds, or ANZ. Then there is no real palatable option after that.

I'll give this poll a few more days to generate some votes from people who don't frequent the forum as often. Then I'll reissue the poll with the three options where you can only pick one of the three home grounds. That will be an interesting exercise.

@Cultured_Bogan Yes, that was my reading of it. That's why I thought it would be interesting to boil it down and see what happens if people have only two or three options. The three you mentioned are what I would have chosen as well. As I say I have never ben to any of the options but I believe it is important to choose one home ground.

I took three different routes/paths to see if any were significantly quicker/slower. That’s why the three times. They all took me roughly the same amount of time, depending on traffic lights etc.
