Who Should Be Our Coach Next Season?

Why is the list limited to those who have basically coached at NRL level.

Are there other talent pools to draw from?

What about the best from

NSW cup
QLD cup
20's
Super league

Taylor,Brown or Griffin would be the coaches I would be talking to. Taylor and Brown seem to have excellent football brains and Griffin seem to have good people skills.

Although Potter probably deserves another shot, I think we need a new man

How about Farah retires from playing and become the head coach . He's the one that's unraveled our season !
Let's see how the sook copes then !

Yeah he made a comment 18 months ago and he's handled it like a premenstrual teenage girl . He could've owned up to his comment and put this crap behind us weeks ago !

I have been a Potter supporter from day one, but I feel a change is required to try and stop the train wreck. Potter is not the fault, the problem was at the club long before he joined. A new independent board, a clean out of senior non performing players, a revamp of our Strength & Conditioning unit and a new coaching staff headed by someone who will put pride into our players when they pull on our jersey. Most importantly we need cohesion within our club aiming towards a united goal, being a successful and proud club.
I have not seen a name mentioned so far that I believe should be the new coach, nor can I offer a sound suggestion. I thank Mick Potter for what he tried to achieve with a train wreck and if he continues to be our coach I will support him.

We need someone who has some idea of attacking and defensive game plans. Have not seen either from Potter. Smith has a bad reputation but you cannot argue he can get sides to Grand Finals. He may have not have won any but neither have a lot of other good coaches.

Fixed term of 2 years.

I think that he would clean out a lot of the problems at the club. He does not take prisoners, or play favourites.

The clean out should start at the very top of the J/V and go right down to the bottom.

I've always liked Elliott, but I worry about the fact that he's succumbed to player power before on more than one occasion.

Mick Potter. You might have heard of him.

Not sure he has done too much wrong.

Now if you asked who the board might be next year, you know, the people who provide stability and direction in a club…..well thats another story...

I tend to agree tbh. I don't dislike Potter but at the end of the day if he can't get them playing, even if it is their fault, then he or they have to go. I'd be happy no matter which way it ended if it improved the on field performances!

It's just an arbitrary list of names that seem the most likely. There's an "other" option for a reason. Would you have liked me to make a 400 person list with every coach down to Under 16s at the Marist Brothers Rams?

Guys I don't have a preference but I must say potter must go. On sat night I saw a shot of the roosters dressing room and there coach was laying down the law. Then the camera showed the tigers dressing room and there was pottsy sitting there not saying a word. We were 8 nil down at the time and the coach couldn't think of something to say? Please, this bloke shows no passion or it seems interest at all. No wonder we are playing like we don't care cos it seem the coach doesn't. I've never seen the bloke even raise a sweat let alone show any emotion.

Would someone like Nathan Brown be worth a look? Underachieved with the Dragons but was maybe a little to close with the players, but has done well over in England and could be worth a crack. Most of the coaches floating around here are duds or out of our price range.

i only say Potter cause of circumstances that has happened , but i do agree with most if he can't Rev up the Boys for a game and is not Tactically sound then he must go , very hard to make a Judgement from an outsider.

Plus most wouldnt even look at us with all the coach stabbing and sacking we do..

If you need a safe coaching job then keep away from the tigers - "word on the street"

"I would love the independants to extend Potter, just to jam a fat one right up the white ants, and make it clear in no uncertain terms that the new regieme is conform/perform or hit the bricks".

Agree B n W would love to see the independents side with a good guy instead of the mongrels that seem to win all the time.

Generally speaking I think the list put forward is pretty pathetic. Griffin is the best of a bad lot but not as good as Potter IMO. How would Kidwell, Payton, Parish and Smith make the list I have no idea. Another four were sacked from their clubs and Walters - Pleeese; maybe we could add the monkey's uncle.

Get rid of the troublemakers/white anters (or whatever you want to call them) not the good guy.
He has given his all for the Tigers and for peanuts, in a most professional way which is more than the anters can say - they should hang their head in shame and have their numbered jerseys ripped up in front of them and the fans before they get the size 9.

I really don't care who gets the coaching gig. Well I do care really as I certainly don't want Parish.

Anyone else though

Only 2 conditions
1 - that the independent run board comes out publicly and supports the CEO completely from day one. The CEO reports to the board so this must happen.

2 - That they also tell the coach that his first priority is to instil player discipline into the joint.

IF that happens we will be on the improve.

This whole situation is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that apparently we have to make the finals for Potter to continue is laughable. Firstly, we have now had 2 years from hell with injuries. How would Storm go without Slater, Chambers, Cronk or Manly without Stewart, Lyons, Foran or Cherry-Evans and so on.

From the start of the year the only remaining backline players are Lawrence with a suspect ankle and Brooks (a kid) with a suspect shoulder. 2nd rowers playing centre/wing. Sure we're not playing well but look who's in and out of the team. It's not like the Tigers and Potter are underperforming at full strength.

Depending on which articles you read it seems we have a board and/or management - possibly using a member of the support group (working for Potter) as a mouth-piece with an agenda for whatever reason to destroy the Tigers. Fix the board and management and then see how the team performs.

Apart from which who in their right mind would be desperate enough to apply for a 1 year gig (assuming they see out the year) to coach the Tigers in 2015\. With nan even run with injuries next year Potter deserves to be coach unless he walks away and who could blame him.

Like it or not, we are no longer Wests or Balmain we are the Wests Tigers and its up to the whole organization to join in or leave!
