According to some, the coach's career might hinge on a 'full strength' side, which includes a bloke who has had a year off and first game back from a knee reco.
A few others and myself on here can speak from experience. Doueihi will not light up the world for the next 6 games, and probably not...
I don't think anyone is denying a 'review', which was always happening. Not just as a response to the first half of the year.
But yo suggest the club came out with some big announcement is complete BS. I guarantee if the media didn't ask, you would probably not even k ow it existed.
I'm asking you if it occurred and where. Where would one start to look? I've never seen anything remotely close.
EDIT: Again, not an announcement, just a response to general media questions.
Because they got into bed with News Ltd and the DT. Once was good, now Big Brother of the NRL world. Hooper, Frothfield, Crawley, Riccio. You will notice they also appear regularly on Triple M, which is what has caused them to slide back to oblivion.
Newspapers don't sell anymore - so like a...
I think Hooper is getting 50% inside info from some grub, and then 50% making it up. He has been wrong many times and just continues to throw the darts in hope.
It is absolutely clear that for a bloke who supposedly loves the Tigers, has an axe to grind and an agenda to peddle as a favour to...
Sorry, should be clearer in my posts. Of course the club fine isn't 25%. But as I wrote, the club fine AND players such as Matulino, Packer, Reynolds, Mbye ... all big money signings over which he had no control. That's the context. Sorry.
And then operating with what's left, making sure you...
Correct. Every single player has been signed or re signed under this coach. And he did that with no more than 75% of a salary cap because of a $639k club fine coming out in his first year, and spending the next few paying for players that he did not sign.
He did the best with what he had.
I...
100% true. Penrith has had that catchment for at least the last 40 years. In the late 80s, they tapped into it and for some unknown reason, tilted the other way after that. Trust me on that, I was around when they went in a different direction.
They have since gone back to it in recent years...
I think that's a harsh judgement. Anyone is capable of anything, but there is a measure of likelihood versus probably wont happen. Is Pascoe responsible for that appointment? 100%. If it turns bad, should he pay the price? 100% (that's the luck of being a CEO). Is it through any negligence or...
As I mentioned, they may have done it quicker. But the fact remains, if you're down in a single team market for 2 years, after being one of the superclass clubs of the last 20 years, as opposed to our situation and being down for 10. I know which task I'd rather take.
The front office is not...
I think the clubs biggest debacle was to let things get out of hand between 2007 and 2016. The sadness is that some think this is a correction that can be made overnight. And because it hasn't been corrected instantly, then those involved in that correction are failures.
Perhaps corrections...
I find it interesting that some people a making comments on various debacles that are clearly just media beat-ups (or have been proven since to be so) - and they have fallen for them hook , line and sinker.
Sorry to disagree but that's exactly what we need. No more of this BS boys club who carry on like flogs in their little sandals and pants that dont reach the ankles on boats in Sydney Harbour. Call it as it is. Be a leader. Call out bad behaviour.
