If AJ Hands like feet Kepoa is our starting winger we are in trouble. He has blown 2 tries every week because he can't catch a pass.

My starting backline at this stage is

JAC
B

Nofa
Reynolds
Brooks

Leilua? He should not be anywhere near the NRL.

He will be.

And that's why we are where we are.

He is better than our other options.

Pity Momerovski is not with us.

I see Momerovski and Doueihi as similar players and don't see there being room for them both in the centres. Doueihi is a faster, bigger and better version of Moemrovski so he would get one centre spot in my opinion.

They are similar and both are smart footballers. Having smart in your team has to be an advantage. Fast wingers outside of them also assists.

I agree mate, both have a high footy IQ. I just like a but of variation in my centres. I like one to be safe, sure and smart and like the other to be a little explosive and hard to bring down.

Garner (possible)

That is quite a few. And a fair amount of spots to fill

Have we the CAP money left to buy better players than the ones that are leaving? Otherwise why get rid of them.

Grant being all lovey with the storm players, posing for photos etc after the game made me feel kinda empty

I hope nobody seriously thinks we have a chance at retaining him

As for the players departing...apart from McIntyre and the huth (he’s surprised me this year), the rest can pack their bags

Why would Grant want to stay? We are an insignificant joke. We always have been and it’s hard to see that changing any time soon.

Bring on cricket season. I’m sick of pouring so much mental energy into this team.

The sad thing is that they are really not any of those positions. We have them long terms on big contracts so are trying to find somewhere to put them where they can't do too much damage.

Would be great if we could offload Garner and Mikaele. Bring in 2 blokes who show some heart. I'd rather Josh Jackson for a season than Garner or Useless Tom. He'd put a bit of steel in our pack.
Mikaele has been a monumental disappointment, he's Jesse Sue Mk2.

Totally agree on Mikaele. In attack and defence he doesn’t seem to know how to use his massive frame. I would suggest maybe persisting with him a season or two longer (obviously Madge rates him to be a starting prop yesterday) but he really needs to lift his aggression and desire

He's just a big pillow. Stefano seems to be of similar ilk, we need some hard men in our pack.

Oh please .... seems to be (big pillow) .... just give it away mate. Young player with great junior credentials at start of his NRL career. Just another soft comment by one of our fearless keyboard warriors.
Keyboard warrior for having an opinion? Sorry to inform you champ but you are one as well then. Stefano doesn't play with much aggression, he might develop it but as it stands people hoping he will be our forward packs saviour are hanging a lot of hope on the kid.
Sorry if that opinion offends?

Are Development players guaranteed the upgrade to NRL squad or can they be let go? I wonder who of the 4 we have this season we actually would keep if we had a choice.

On the tigers website it says they’re all contracted for next season so unless they’re let go from their contracts early they’ll be in the top 30

Thanks JC- just checked the Team list on the Tigers website, it lists Simpkins, Madden, Bradley, Cini, Hoffman all as Development signings and Smith as a full contract expiring this season.
Assuming Smith is not re-signed then we are making way for the 5 Development players plus Stefano and Tamou into our NRL squad. That is 7 spots we have to find correct??

With Tamou in we have 5 spots to fill for next season. Hoffman is still a development player next season but the other 4 are joining the top squad for next season.

If you count up all the players who are listed as contracted it adds up to 24 then adding Tamou it’s 25.

https://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2019/11/01/wests-tigers-2020-nrl-squad/

I would not assume all development players would move up.

They’re contracted to be in our top 30 for next season so I won’t assume otherwise until there’s an official announcement from the club saying they’ll be departing. In saying that it wouldn’t surprise me if not all of them stuck around next season.

That's the folly of counting numbers when you don't know.

I’d rather go off what the contracts say instead of guessing. It wouldn’t surprise me if MCK was let go or McIntyre was re-signed but I won’t assume until it’s official

Wasn't there some sort of announcement regarding the young centre Kei signing a top 30 contract recently?

Edit; maybe @pawsandclaws1 might know as he has been following his progress?

Kei is a fine player, so is Rizk and I believe Scolari has it as well. Kepaoa has the size and pace you cannot coach. If you watch the try where he had to sprint the look on the Storm fullback's face was disbelief how Kepaoa burnt him for pace. He is going to be very good for WTs.

AJ can't catch no matter how much spray they put on his hands and unless a player is directly in front of him he impersonates a turnstile

AJ is inexperienced but has demonstrated more promise in our backline than most. He will learn.

Agreed. Kid makes the switch mid-season, has to learn new structures and makes his FG debut. Most of his problems revolve around not knowing what Benji is going to do with the ball.

It could be a ball over head, behind you, infront, low down, in the stands, grubber, chip, out on full, no look, flick, bullet. No one outside of Benji hasn’t dropped balls.

He is better than our other options.

Pity Momerovski is not with us.

I see Momerovski and Doueihi as similar players and don't see there being room for them both in the centres. Doueihi is a faster, bigger and better version of Moemrovski so he would get one centre spot in my opinion.

Think you are on the wrong track, there is a similarity but they are really different as well. Guess you would say the same if we had Lomax.

They both can find their way to the line - I would love to have both of them, AD at centre or 5/8, Momo in the other slot.

Then you have the problem of what to do with BJ.... he is not a forward.
