Kyle Lovett gone?

Sarge is such an honest fellow, cops ask if he has any nose candy in his reg grundies and he says "yeah, TBH I do".

How can you sack such an honest young fellow?

Police also found a blue and white MDMA capsule on the road under the car, but Lovett said "I don't touch that stuff."

I'm not sure if he's maybe not a liiiiitle dishonest, or if the streets of Pyrmont are lined with ekkies.

If Lovett is not sacked the club culture of the club HAS NOT changed ..since the completion of the competition last year the club has been reinforcing the fact that the culture of the Weststigers has changed ..well let's see!

In no way do I condone his actions but who hasn't as a young person has not made a mistake. Had a beer or two too many and drove home, had a puff on the magic herbs.

Look at the other players in the comp who are far worse, rapists, wife beaters, drunk drivers and dealers. Show some compassion and try not to destroy his life. Hell just compare what he did to what one of the "immortals" was like.

I think your spot on Magpie .

I'm by far Lovett's biggest supporter on the field but cut the guy some slack and give the young Man a chance to show that his made a big mistake and won't happen again .
I'm sure if a player like Tedesco was caught everyone will be saying " 1st offence give him another shot his to valuable to get rid off and then what ? another Club picks him up after the suspension and we loose ".
I bet the tune would be different in this instance.

Yeah many will say this is a perfect opportunity to give ourselves room with the Cap but i believe this will do massive damage to the young Man Mentally as no other Club will go near him and potentially wreck all the hard work his put in cause of the one mistake his made , maybe this is not the 1st time that his been on the white stuff but if he can't learn from this and is caught again ? instant Contract tear up.

just my Opinion .

I know its your opinion. I respect that and everyone has a right to an opinion of course.

Mine is different. A mistake is'dropping a glass in the kitchen and it breaks, or even having a few beers and going close to the limit if you want to use that analogy.

A mistake is not using coke and quite probably other stuff. Next thing will be 'its the first time he ever touched the stuff'.

Draw a line.

Its pi55 poor behaviour and a disrespect for the club, fans, other players and himself. And the old ' well someone else did it too' has never washed with me.

Seriously, he is a grown man who should know the priveliged position he has through his own hard work. There are 20 other young guys who would gladly take his place and not be a coke head.

I seriously think the reason society is on the down is because people keep brushing these sorts of things aside as a 'mistake by a young man'. And for the record, id pay Tedesco's cab fair out of the place if he was in that position. It shows a distinct lack of brains and respect.

Just my opinion.

Weird how you think drink driving is a less morally blameworthy than sniffing coke. One has the potential to kill others, the other doesn't. Bizarre.

Also weird given that alcohol unequivocally causes more social problems than coke.

He's known for running straight and taking the tackle, but for once he successfully offloaded.

No mistakes here.
He deliberately breached the clubs code of conduct in not revealing to the club he'd been arrested.
This point seems to have been forgotten.
This is a decision.
His decision… Like it was his decision to score the junk in the first place.
He didn't learn after being arrested.
If he was honest and up front immediately, my opinion would probably be different

I'm not sure if anyone has said but the rumour about cleaning out his locker may have been a search of his locker?

Just on the bit in bold, I don't agree with this at all. I'm pretty ambivalent on how the club handles this tbh, but to think clubs won't go near him after a (relatively) minor offence - not a chance. The Roosters signed 2 or 3 repeat offenders in this off-season alone, let alone the other ne'er-do-wells running about in the NRL. If he's good enough, he'll definitely get a gig.

I tend to agree… regardless 'who else does it', or this is 'a first offence', or 'other players have done worse' etc, at the end of the day he has been caught with an illegal substance and has broken the law.

Personally, the Club should make a decision based on its own values, and how it wants to be perceived moving forward. Stuff those clubs who let scum-bag players get away with shit, stuff our previous administration who let Robert Lui stay at the club for another year. The Wests Tigers need to be a club of the future and need to make their own platform.

Oh and dont forget, his first offence has evolved into 2 indiscretions by not advising the club of the incident [as we have been told by the club].

Over to you Pascoe and Go

I dont think that at all, just have seen the damage that BOTH do first hand. No room for either. You dont think drink driving or drug driving arent as bad as each other? They both kill plenty.

100% agree Ink .. I am dumbfounded as to why he wouldn't advise the club cause in a short time all would have been revealed … and it was by a forum member of all people.. The club has a duty to inform NRL as soon as they become aware so there is no way they would risk protecting him and put all their new found values at risk

Thats what people are forgetting. His failure to inform the club could have caused us massive problems. Yet he foolishly and selfishly decided to try and cover it up.

I respect all your opinions and i do find myself agreeing to everyone's opinion and can see the other side of the argument aswell.

If the Club came out tomorrow and made a statement that they have been given no other option but to sack Lovett as under no circumstance they condone such behaviour , well i would except there decision cause i can see there side of the argument as long as there consistent and not judge a player by how valuable they are to the Club playing wise in the future.
If the Club want to protect the image they are trying to represent and distance themselves from players being silly enough to do this sought of thing ? he will be sacked .
I just feel for his stupidity and the people he has embarrassed and believe in giving the young bloke a 2nd chance.

I don't care. Bottom of the line is he got caught. Kyle - You're fired.

I don't care about the rest of the comp. I worry about us. We have standards and he hasn't met them.

Yeah that's what i meant Nucky .

I don't think he is a great player at all and i believe he only got a chance because of our Salary Cap issues and we had to play some below average players .

So after the club sacks him should they not worry about him?

The club has a duty of care to its employees and this lad will need support. Yes he was foolish but do you want the club to be responsible for destroying his life. The club has responsibility to look after him even if he has done the wrong thing.

The club will need to meet its own standards on this mater as well

I think it's a pity players aren't forced to wear club jerseys to court appearances.
Some headgear or old Pearce style sticky tape round the noggin as well.
Go full kit wanker and wear club socks and metal studded lace ups so everyone hears you coming.

The reason the NRL and other sporting codes in this country arent that harsh when it comes to recreational drugs is because most players are on them.

Every club is guilty of double standards and would treat these matters depending how important that player was. Im happy for them to release Lovett as he is disposable and can be replaced but if it was Tedesco or Moses then hell no and id bet my house on it the club would not get rid of them.
