We were never certainties even when we were the only horse in the race. Add some competition and we became long odds.

It’s a very hard sell getting marquee players to head to Tiger land. Fingers crossed we can develop and hold on to all these kids we have signed.

Without a player of Mitchell’s quality we don’t have to worry about 9th position next year. Of course it will be interesting if Easts release him

@avocadoontoast this is crap . If there was a ranking system for juniors , our juniors would have gone from 14-16 to at least top 8 , over 1 off season.
The talent is definitely there . And we still have to spend 1.2 mil to be cap compliant . So just RELAXA for gods sake . You , Gallagher , all these losers who keep crapping in the team acting like petulant babies need to absolutely check yourselves. It’s constant , it’s every 10th post and your not saying anything original or adding anything . Just shut up until an announcement .

Put together our best 8-13 (including hooker ) and 3 bench forwards ...then put it up against the other 15 clubs

Agree. If we don't end up with LM, I'm hoping this is the case and we beef up the forward pack.

I remember we all but had DWZ signed up, then out of nowhere he went to the Dogs. Things can change. There's every chance we were simply used as bait so Souths could quietly negotiate.

For sure our forwards also need a big boost.
But our backs need x-factor BADLY!
Remember Balmain had the best forward pack in the world in 88, 89 and even had some handy backs (Jack, Hanley, Neil, Freeman, Brasher, Gale Currier).

I still don't understand why LM met with Cows, if they were just using him to lure Holmes. What did LM get out of it? Was he happy just being bait? Why would he be? Did they maybe shout him and his family the holiday? Make it worth his time that way? If so, isn't that part of the cost in luring Holmes, and shouldn't that be under the cap?

As far as Souths go, there seems to be a new rumour every day or two with LM, so I'm letting that rumour fly through to the keeper.

I just hope we can get someone of note. Would like some rumours of other people we are interested in.

I said last week if it didn’t happen Last week it won’t happen. There is a reason he hasn’t made a decision last week. He’s waiting it out to give Souths time to get cap space and see if there are any other interested teams.

Mid last year it came out the change of manager made the Roosters think he was going to Souths.
I’d go to Souths if I was him also.

It’s sounding like if we want him it’s going to be a huge contract. I’d be walking away and seeing if Souths would release Gagai and Johnstone they would both be on contracts that won’t total more than 1.1m.

I can see us picking up some of Souths crumbs if they sign LM. Gaigai would be handy. I'd throw up a little in my mouth if we picked up Johnstone.

If I were Wests tigers I wouldn't but anything from souths.

Yeah they've only been more successful than us for more than decade ... Let's not go there eh?

Curious what you (and others) mean by meltdown.

Its thrown around these parts a lot by generally the same people. You do realize you are on a fan forum right? and the club this fan forum supports is in the mix to sign a marquee player that could be argued is the best in the clubs short history. Of course there is going to be some highs and lows. Some passionate banter. If you don't want to read it, jog on. Really simple.

No I don't at all. He is all heart and a half decent winger but he is no fullback. If you ever have aspirations of finishing in the 8 he can't be fullback.
