Contrary to what everyone is saying, if the kid was only motivated by money - he would have signed the Tigers deal.

If his motivation was money, he would have signed with the Tigers. if his motivation was to be successful and win premierships, he would have accepted the Roosters offer. There has to be something else. IMO that something else is he has agreed to terms with the Bunnies and they are waiting for the ducks to line up to announce it.

This makes sense because everything else he’s doing makes no sense

I am sure that Lattrell’s destination will be locked in less than 48 hours after you are looking at this post.

?????????

You obviously have looked at the post recently to quote it, so still plenty of time

Hahaha...I guess so.

If Latrell wants to stay at the Roosters and honour his contract next year, what's wrong with that? Screw the Roosters, I hope he stays and pisses the whole club off next year. That club has had it way too good and way too easy for too long. So for now WTs fans, lets move on and build a team with players that want to be here and buy into Madges philosophy.

What concerns me the most is we offered a player a massive contract, the position he wanted, the only club offering him a contract & we are still in the Sydney area where he currently lives but he still could not commit.
Are we really that bad of a club ??
In most sports if you wanted to change clubs for more money or position etc.. you would take whatever was available as you can only play for so long in your career.. As a professional its a privilege to be getting paid to play the sport you love and I for one would play for any team if the right money and opportunity was given to me..
It just makes me think we are still a club that is only there as a back up for players until someone of quality takes the plunge to joins us. I know you don't want to pay overs but do we pay overs just to get the first player over the line or do we sit back and hope our luck changes.. :man-shrugging: :man-shrugging:

That’s not necessarily true. It could be that certain managers push clients to certain clubs because that’s in their best interest . For example ; Moses’clients all being offered the broncos or Warriors . The self interest is rife with these people , and if the reporting is true , Lattrell was very open to the tigers , but his manager , not so much .
Seems pretty suss to me . Also you can’t just change managers . Mr 10 percent will take you to court , so you’re kind of screwed if you make a really bad decision . Also , the self interest of people around him as well . For example uncle john is offered a new ranger if he can get x player to sign with x club . No salary cap breach , as uncle john doesn’t play footy .

I agree with pulling the offer based on the reception we were getting.

We have either missed out on a gem that we can build around, or dodged Owen Craigie MkII

I think he just thought he was worth more than the Tigers offered. He doesn't have to decide now and has time on his side till another deal pops up that he can compare to ours. His agent probably knows there's not many players on the market that will chew up the cap and take the tigers offer off the table.

That's it. They'll wait. He's still got 1 year.

It could have been that Mitchell wanted a decent salary increase and to be part of a club that he thinks would threaten for a premiership.

But yes, that boat has sailed, and though it may one day come back, we don't expect it to. We move on, because regardless of Mitchell or Arrow or Tetevano or Robbie or Benji or Ivan or Teddy or Mitch Moses or Dontmatterson or Madge, the club is bigger than any one person. Reaching the Top 8 is only a start, I want that premiership trophy and I'm sure every Tigers player wants it too. That is our goal. Anyone not helping us there, can get out of our way...

LATRELL UPDATE

So the Wests Tigers have now pulled there offer for Latrell Mitchell, as soon as I heard I contacted my source straight away

Latrell and the Tigers looked set, the papers were ready, Roosters release papers were ready, Tigers were ready but Latrell wasn’t ready to commit as of yet

The reason why I said from day 1 that it’s a 99% chance is because no other team can come into the picture for 2020

However, this does not disqualify Mitchell coming to the Wests Tigers as it’s still a possibility

The offer has been pulled, but the Tigers still remain keen to bring him over but they aren’t willing to wait around any longer as they know Latrell has no other legitimate offers.....

Expect Latrell’s management to contact the Wests Tigers and the chance for both parties to negotiate freshly

Main reason for the withdrawn offer was to let Mitchell and his camp know they won’t be pushed around but this isn’t necessarily the end!

I genuinely don't understand your question...

Wow so over this. Probably did a deal with Bennet a month ago.
IMO we dodged a bullet.
Esan Masters single handed made this guy a legend.

I blame all of this on Corey Thompson ... he was the one who claimed he would not give up his spot without a fight

He scared Latrell off

The Tigers want Latrell and are still negotiating, that includes withdrawing the offer. Latrell and his manager want a $1M contract and are negotiating, that includes trying to make the Tigers think there are other options.
Saying stuff like Latrell never wanted to be a Tiger or the Club has stuffed this up based on our view from the outside are ridiculous. A deal may still be reached, or it may not. We are still the only team that has made an offer.

Technically no, we aren't the only team that has made an offer, Roosters made one too, which he also did not take and they withdrew as well. For the rest, well, never say never.

At the end of the day we saved a million he's got to find a million and looks likely to play CC

It's interesting how some people are calling us the fools. Maybe in some alternate universe. We handled the situation well.

When its a one horse race after others dropped out you can please yourself when push came to shove, bye bye LM if he comes back we need to be careful he doesn't try a Matterson after 12 /24 months

I can't see it happening. I think the commitment is too big for him. He sounds like a good bloke, just not a cornerstone player.
