LIVE game discussion. Tigers Team Vs Penrith - Trial#2

Not many mention of how well the forwards were.
I though Bunty was outstanding in attack and defence. And big minutes compared to Royce.
Another who excelled IMO was Sione. In attack and D.
Line speed was good also. They all played with intent.
With May and KPP watching on. All augers well for 2026.
Gut feel it’s Royce that misses out on the bench spot.

It was interesting that the second-half Panthers were not quite as good as the second-half Tigers, and that's why we ran away with it.

I can't make much comment about whether that bodes well for our depth, because I didn't really recognise who the Panthers threw on. Also we kept throwing our fringe firsties back on after a rest (e.g. Murray, Hope, Sukkar), so it wasn't necessarily a proper reflection of how we would usually finish matches.

That being said, Penrith defended really well with first and second string sides, so we were forced to do a lot with the ball. The entire Tigers side also defended fairly well, esp. good first contact, even though at times we were losing the ruck speed.

I’ll have to watch the replay, but I didn’t think Star Toa went as bad as people are making out. Pulled off some good tackles and showed his customary fend with limited opportunities.
Was more concerned with Tiny Mays diabolical attempt on To’o and the forward pass to Maka that would have ruined the highlight reel 😁

I have seen Twal abit different to others over the years and think he is a must to start for us. So didn’t mention him as thought that was a standard Twal performance.

He is using his body better. He direct runs make an impact and his offloads have a knack of leading to significant field gains or points.

I actually can see Benji squad forming but also with like for like players potential on the park for the full game.

Bunty & Hunt, Pole & Sione, May is the exception.
Twal and Seyfarth as the rovers. With young brigade to come in as injuries hit.

Basically the forward momentum should last alot longer this season than ones before.
Makasini try was a direct result of Twals offload , he looked good all night .

We should temper our enthusiasm a smidge on Jock. Yes he is playing well in these trials and yes the structures look more lethal with him directing them.
These are trials though and I’d remind everyone that one of our best performers in the trials last year was Hope, and many said he deserved to take Tallyns spot. When the real footy started though Tallyn quickly established himself as the preferred 2nd string hooker.
AD is proven during premiership rounds and was one of the few who stood up last year and had a go for us. He was one of our best all year.
We’ll get a better view as the year progresses and my want is the Benji rewards consistency and form fairly.
I have to agree with you on this one Tucker (doesn’t happen often 😂)
There’s a big difference between first and reserve grade in both attack & defence.

Don’t forget Jock has been around Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt in recent times and filled in pretty well when he had to.

He looks damn good doesnt he.
How long is he contracted for? I cant see him sticking around to wait for luai to leave
This is the attitude we need to change as a club. The opportunity to learn under a four time premiership winner should be a selling point. If kids think they’re ready before they are then good luck to them.

I think we will see Pezet have a great career after doing a proper apprenticeship.

Fisherman speaks for “everyone” 👍
How did the Fisherman garner this authority?
Does the Forum have a debenture system I’m not aware of ?

Since when has winning
and displaying silverware been “cringe” ?

So many questions, so little time ...
The destination of any Wests Tigers silverware should never end up at W.A. wake up to yourself, I don't believe this has to be pointed out.
