And the last time our CEO fooled us all into thinking he can make a good deal out of a negative situation he stuffed up by trying to get one up on his former mate and old club.

At that moment, especially when it became clear Ivan wasn’t willing to commit beyond his contracted term they should have mutually terminated Ivan and then looked at other options. One of which was Bennett whom was unable to commit until the following year. Instead he / the club left Bennet at the alter because he didn’t work for their timeline.

Back to Gus; Penrith were not a ‘good, successful’ club when he came back to them as Football General Manager but they came to a crossroad with their coach and playing group in 2011.
Gus spoke with everyone, spoke with Matt Elliot and made a determination that the current coach is not part of the solution going forwards.

Regardless of who the next coach was.

This is what needs to happen first and foremost, before worrying about who is available to talk with.
