To all those that wanted Madge sacked because he can't do this and they won't play for him, we've gone backwards, etc, etc, etc . . . .
If the coach is the problem, then we will win the Minor Premiership the first year we get Bellamy to coach us.
No ifs, no buts.
Madge is why we fail, and Bellyache wins MP's.
Let me know how that'll turn out for ya.

Believe Lee if you want …he is paid to be the best BSer …I don’t …And I said I’d heard this Sunday/Monday night about Ciraldo

you heard it from who?

A source ......I posted it if you have a look in the thread

Not suggesting for a minute that your source hasn't told you this. But Ciraldo himself said he is making no comment until after the finals when contacted by media. Lee stated he was never contacted by the club. I also have a contact at Penrith who doesn't believe he was contacted by WT.

We will probably never know truly because contacts can be made through managers and third parties etc, but I'm not certain he was contacted. Just sayin.....

@happy_tiger is usually very careful about information he posts.

The source is a brother of an ex NRL player who is good mates with a current coach ......he was actually a delivery driver for many years ...I hadn't heard anything from him for a few years ...but he put me on to some stories in regards to Todd Carney for example that proved correct ...

I cant tell you my contact unfortunately. Best I could say is a club employee...and not someone who pours drinks at the bar :grinning:

In any case, I'm certain the club would have, either formally or informally just listened to the chatter out there around Ciraldo and others. They would be derelict in their duty if they didnt to be fair.

Enjoy the break Madge..

sacked or not sacked, I'm glad Madge now has the ability to relax and recharge. I doubt he's been reading the papers anyway but the noise around him would've been deafening. we're gonna need him at his best if we're going to do anything of note next year, happy hols Madge.

How very interesting and convenient that Tigers Public Enemy Number 1, fiction writer Michael Chammas, has a detailed interview with Chariman Mouth today in the SMH. Everytime Chairman Mouth opens his mouth he further erodes confidence in Club Leadership, in my opinon, and only reinforces that that is the major issues to be addressed before I, and I suspect many others, feel any confidence that things can improve in team performance.

Chammas, of course, is the prime WT rumour spreader and our Chairman loves media attention. Coincidence?? I think not.

I think the opposite.

The only way Wests tigers will get a good reputation with the media is by controlling the narrative.

This is one time I must commend Lee.

An Honest Q and A, immediately following all the articles and ongoing speculation just to bring everyone up to speed.

We need to be more forthcoming with our access to the media. If we don’t the media will only create stories anyway to generate the clicks. So we might as well use it to our advantage and give them what we want them to hear.

But to come out and state "we believe we are a destination club" and "there is a real smell of 2005 about this team" is just beyond laughable. Those sort of statements feed the media and public perception that we are an absolute laughing stock. It doesn't help in any way whatsoever.

Agree absolutely regarding the 2005 comments that’s where Chairman / sponsor Lee and fan Lee need alignment.

Regarding being a destination club.
Well it will be laughable if that is the case but he is only going off his feedback regarding the response his received from players / player managers.

We’ll see what comes of it in the next few weeks.

But would you prefer it if he said “yeah absolutely, right now I could’t give you any positives as to why someone would join us? But we’ll see what we can manage before next season starts.”

Got to make hay while the sun shines and right now being only a handful of clubs with a large cap and vacant roster spots, we would be a destination club for some.

Robbo congratulated Madge, calling him a fine coach on NRL360. Respected figure in the game. Now let him whip this roster into shape.

The roster he put together?

Whatever mate, half the marquee money was paid to major duds that hardly took the field. The young guys he did attract played well.

What’s been done with that money now it’s freed up?

If he signs whatever half-decent players that are currently available (Sims, Elliot, Peachy, Scott/Burns/Walker) and they don't work out people will be queuing to jump down his neck for those signings. But there isn't much else out there. So it's a bit of a hiding to nothing for him recruitment-wise for season '22.

4 or 5 of those players would bolster our team significantly IMO.

There was though. JAC, Finucane etc, and he couldn’t sign them either.

Didn't Finucane fall through because WT didn't want to give him the 4 year deal he was chasing (and got at Sharks)?
Happy we didn't go ahead with him for 4 years, Sharks will be lucky to get more than 1 year out of him on-field with all the head knocks he's been getting. JAC, meh, he's been on the decline a bit this year, IMO he will struggle at the Bulldogs just like he more than likely would of here. $700k or whatever he is on per season.

That's correct, we didn't fall for that trap - I'll be stunned if Finucane is still playing well in 3 years time let alone 4.

But his experience teaching our youngsters especially stef, twal and blore, on how to prepare etc would have been invaluable.
It would have been worth it for us to pay a 4th even if he had limited game time.
Big miss imo

It would be a criminal waste of money to pay Finucane what he wanted and then just watching him sit on the sidelines for 2 years like Packer

Don't think he would be sitting on the sideline for that long plus we wouldn't be paying him Packer money

Close to it, he signed at Sharks for over 600k a season.

If nofo is on around 400k allegedly and tamou roughly the same, I'd have no trouble with him for 600k

He wanted 4 years at big money to come here,he is still a decent player but not cost effective for 4 years. The club got it right in not bowing down to what he wanted

600k is not big money for finucane compared to some of the trash we have

My wife and I each have a premium membership and will keep them. We support the Wests Tigers and would never put any coach, player or other individual above the club (even Robbie!). We have stuck solid through thick and thin and believe that's what members and fans do.

I'm not looking for any pats on the back for this but we will always support whoever the club appoints. so the outcome of the review has had no impact on our support. I'm glad to see Madge continue with the passion and belief that he wears on his sleeve.

Here's to better times ahead!

Enjoy your wooden spoon next season to eat your soup with, because that’s where we are heading!

He didn't deserve that response.

Obviously not directed especially at him but the general Madge lovers with their massive blinkers on! Can’t stand the ignorance of some people!

Do they really even watch the games, as I said previously I have supported the club through numerous wooden spoons and this is the worst we have looked by a mile!

38-0 to the wooden spooners!

Thought you were done with the Forum?

Couple things that I believe is imperative to madges safety beyond season 2022.
1) recruitment wins for 2023. If we can lure even 2 bigger high profile names to sign on for 2023, it will make the inevitable let downs of 2022 somewhat bearable.
2) major improvement in effort, particularly in defence. Providing nsw cup and junior comps return, Madge can really shift the team around by dropping the usual culprits who fail to turn up. Get 17 blokes out on the field every week that give a damn. If we finish 13th again but don’t die wondering, id be content.

100%

Even though there is naysayers, I'm still hopeful we can move on from contracted players, early.
Poor performers like Luke Brooks and David Nofoaluma told they're not part of the plans and to look elsewhere or shopped for trade deals with players who can benefit our squad more.

Yeah, they're contracted. It's happened many times before. It'd be gold to see.

Im sure there were probably other shows of support from the players as I not on any social media (besides here? - is this classified as social media?) anyway, obviously Doueihi showing some support above and I saw similar from Maumalo.....

If that is the case that board member should be removed asap.We dont need cavaliers at that level

Lee has already stated that board members were revealing information to the media during this process. he said he let them know in no uncertain terms that it wont be tolerated.

They should already be handing in their resignation/forced resignation.

The key is we need to see improvements

For me that is broken into the following

- we play as a team
- we play to our strengths not to a very rigid game plan
- we show what our identity is becoming
- our kids continue to develop and take a step up on this year
- we get another 3-4 kids debut that become apart of our future plan
- we snare 2 big name recruits for 2023
- our defense improves - we go from 30pts per game to under 25pts per game (this would sit us mid table defensively).
- we start each game strong and don’t get blown away
- we don’t have lapses in the 5min either side of halftime.

Don’t think Nof will go anytime soon. His contract is just too long.

Brooks however, If this season he is in and out of the team, it could be his last year as 2023 is the final year of his contract. Club would obviously prefer to pay half his salary for one year than 2
