For the oldies with kiddies ,went and saw Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2

Didn't fall asleep , so it gets a 4/5

Haha, my boys are 11,9 and 6\. That's how I judge a kids movie too. Gotta be good not to fall asleep

Kids got movie tickets for Xmas so will give you the run down from the movie Frozen on Friday arvo also

Watched Pain & Gain last night on DVD. Was actually pretty surprised. Didn't mind it and I actually found it pretty funny. Based on a true story also.

Watched Sinister the other night. Really good horror flick. Much better than The Conjuring IMO.

I saw that as well the other day and was also surprised…..although in a bad way.
It is based on a true story and if you have read it, you will notice it is a vicious story to boot where 2 of the villains got the death penalty. I was expecting something pretty dark but what we got was a buddy/comedy flick that was a poor man's attempt at Fargo. The personalities of everyone involved have been altered so that you are sort of on the bad guys side for most of it. This was a massive mistake as they were deplorable human beings whilst the victims were decent.

Michael Bay is an aweful director for mine and I really think he stuffed this story up. I noticed that it is on some critic's lists for the worst film of 2013 and whilst I think that is over the top, it should be mentioned somewhere in this way. Kidnapping, extorsion, torture, murder....not really ingredients for a comedy. This should have been a thriller or a character driven drama. I'll admit I laughed at certain parts but having already been aware of the story, felt pretty uneasy knowing how things ended up.

3/10 for mine only becasue Wahlberg and the Rock put in good performances despite the material they had to deal with.

Saw Anchorman 2 today and apart from a few laughs was pretty lame

Still to see Frozen Tiga4eva

Seeing the new Dinosaur movie either Thursday or Friday

Saw a preview for a new Tom Cruise movie that looks OK also , having a mind blank at the title though

I watched Prometheus last night. I didn't mind it. It's a sort of prequel to the Alien franchise but is still it's own movie.

Watched Jobs last night and was really dissapointed. Thought it would delve more into Apple creating ipods and phones and the like, but more of the focus was on what a Hand Job Jobs was. Watchable, but I was hoping for so much better.

That's because Job's never had a creative thought in his life. He was a marketing person only. The real genius lay elsewhere.

Saw Now You See Me and that was a pretty decent flick with some amazing visual effects and a decent story to boot. Good acting performances all round IMO.

A lot of people I know are hating on Pain & Gain.

Best movie of 2013 for me. Absolutely loved it.
I'm a jock though. Marky Mark and The Rock are awesome.

Watched The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy today. Didn't know much about this film or what to expect but it was pretty funny and enjoyable if you don't plenty of swearing and political incorrectness, this film is a hoot.

Watched the new dinosaur movie this morning

Slightly disappointing , quite informative but was quite babyish as well

Just a strange mix of a movie I guess I'd say

It's tanking at the box office which is a bit unfortunate given its target audience but it sounds like they missed the mark from you're saying Happy.

They have tried to appeal to under 6's as well as over 6's

The information they gave was of interest to the older kids , but the parents behind me had to explain to their young uns what the info on the screen was and meant

And then to make it appealing to the younger kids they had to really simplify the story line , which my kids got bored with pretty quickly

It wasn't a bad movie , don't get me wrong

yeh, the heat is funny hey?!
pain and gain i didnt really like. just seemed a mish mash type movie that didnt know if it wanted to be funny, intense or dramatic. it seemed to change as the movie progressed, but didnt do so successfully, imo. if they wanted to make this funny i dont think they should have even mentioned it was based on fact, as when you look at the details, its really not a funny situation….

have seen a few movies lately:

- We're the Millers: hilarious! there are quite a few really funny moments in this. : )
- Carrie (remake): i really enjoyed it! very surprised at how much i liked it actually.
- About Time: really like this movie; just a really nice movie that is well... really nice. : )

although i really liked the first Insidious, i thought Chapter 2 was kind of terrible.

I just saw Seven Psychopaths. What a great movie. A new favourite for me. From the same director writer as In Bruges.

Thanks very much for that Peaches!

I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Sam Rockwell is probably my favourite actor and he was again awesome in this. Great movie with a great cast and a lot of really funny parts as well.
