I find it interesting that Mick Potter on NRL 360 right now has given has given his support to Robbie Farah in this situation. Out of all people, Mick Potter

Apparently it all comes down to how Robbie is being instructed to play. Robbie wants to play his natural game as he feels by being a simple distributor the team isn't playing to it's strengths.

Nathan Brown, Mick Potter and James Hooper all agree that Robbie is being instructed to not play his natural game and it is the WRONG call. They think he should move on and play his natural game for a another team that can benefit from his play.

Last weeks game was an up ya to JT showing him what his missing out on by deviating from Robbie's natural game.

JT seriously has some egg on his face, considering that we put 50 on the opposition as soon as the team defied JT's game plan and instructions.

Was that the case when we beat Melbourne and the Raiders back to back…what will be the excuse if we happen to lose to the Dragoons...?

Will Robbie go into his shell again...?

Robbie played outside JT's game plan once this season.

He scored a try, had 3 try assists, 2 line breaks and we won by 50

The numbers don't lie.

It will be interesting to see how Robbie plays this week. Will it be Taylor Ball or Robbie's natural game

Against the Warriors who just about every one in the past 7 weeks have put 50 on…Ignore the fact we beat Melbourne and Canberra back to back if Robbie was following instructions as you point out above ..."Robbie played outside JT's game plan once this season." ...so it appears the JT game plan was OK then..

We are 3/5 in the last month and a bit of footy...the best record of any bottom 8 side..numbers don't lie...

This weeks game for me will be the most interesting game of the season....

Sterlo: "You don't think they're utilising Robbie's Talents ?"

Potter: "No way in the world !"

Nathan Brown: "Not until the other day. To me that was Robbie showing them look what your missing out on"

Maybe if we utilised Robbie's talents more throughout the season you wouldn't be comparing our stats with the other teams outside the top 8.

It isn't just Robbie's natural game either, but Moses and Brooks. Maybe if we just let them play football from day one we would have a team to support next week.

Any one know the verdict from last nights meeting? Surely this has to be over soon one way or the other. Just need to get on with things, Reminds me alot of Brian Smith in Newcastle.

Potter also said that a coach needs his on field leaders to do as they are instructed and not deviate from those instructions.
I'd say all coaches would agree with that.

Be good if the coach was capable of some good instructions then wouldn't it?
We don't have one who is.

I could agree with this Taylorball stuff if Farah's form nosedived this year. But he's been pretty average for a number of years if you ask me.

Don't you like him Gallagher, ? you hide it well

Haha

Nah. Starting losing time for him awhile ago.
Do you think this is his first year of bad form?

It amazes me how many of the forum members have access to the players at training, in the sheds during and after the game and the game plan each week! Players are paid to follow the coaches instructions, not to instruct how the team should play nor how they should be managed.

Sounds similar to the situation that got us into this mess 2-3 years ago.

just a hunch but is "gallager" Lana taylor ? ? ?

Yeah. I joined the forum in 2009 in the hope my husband
( i assume Lana is his wife) would one day become the tigers coach.
On the other hand you joined the day the news struck. I'll say it again, your way to obvious in your trolling.

i have been watching and reading articles on this forum for a very very long time.

i joined that day because i was so shocked at what was unfolding.

it seems there are a few people here like yourself that - if you dont share their sentiments - they want to argue simple facts and name call others
wow !!!

some of them even want to argue ridiculously about what a club / boss can and cannot do.

th forum is open for everyone to offer an opinion …not to be run by a few of you want to shoot down everyone who seemingly has a different opinion than yours.

keep calling people names mate.
it dosnt bother me in the slightest.

amazing

Both of you cut it out now, or you can both find another forum to post on.

Maybe then they as a playing group should have decided to give Taylor the bird earlier in the season it is their careers..and reputations as well…I'm pretty sure the wouldn't have got dropped for winning,,,

Again ...A Coach gets way to much credit when a team wins and way to much crap when a team loses...

Curtis Sironen seems to think so...Sironen said the ladder position didn't reflect the steady upgrades they've made as a team under Taylor tenure. "We'd just have a couple of weeks where it just won't gel and we'll come up against some strong sides who are playing semi-final footy and then it'll dampen us a bit and we'll have our heads down a bit," he said. "But I think we have (improved)."

They told their captain (you know, the link between the players and coach) that they didn't agree with JT's tactics and as soon as Robbie tried telling JT, he got sacked !!

Curtis Sironen makes a good point and I agree they are making inroads which will benefit them in the future. I honestly agree.

He also makes another good point though:

"I don't think there's anyone better than Robbie. "As a friend, I hope he is still around. He's a State of Origin player and a leader of our club."

So why is he being sacked ? Because someone dared to question JT's authority ? pfttt pathetic

Is that official or an assumption,,,similar to me that Potter got the arse cause Farah thought he couldn't Coach

And this happened very late in the season, word is Farah spent the best part of the year reassuring the young players and getting them to buy into the new structures etc.

I wish he had of done that last year but from all reports he definitely did it this year.

Listen to Robbie's comments, Potter's comments, the experts, journalists (who usually have some info) and all the commentators and then cast your judgement.

If you are waiting for the club to release a statement and officiate it, then don't wait up because it isn't going to happen.

Robbie obviously stood up to JT, enough to have him sacked. The players last week showed their support for Robbie so you can bet your bottom dollar their on board with what Robbie was standing up to JT for.

It could be Taylor just does not have what it takes to bring young players through (a criticism levelled by some Souths' supporters in 2009), his lack of interpersonal and people skills, the players sensing Taylor's ego won't allow him to accept criticism and also a belief by the younger players that Farah may be given leeway by Taylor due to his Australian/Origin and WTs status. Now what did happen at Souths when players approached someone other than Taylor to voice their concerns about his coaching?

@Pawsandclaws:

Yet Farah is not the coach and the players should have vented their concerns with their BOSS not their captain….Maybe if Farah told them to go to Taylor we may not have the disharmony within our ranks that we have at the moment....Farah bound for "matredom" poor me only passing on what the kids said...please...if the young guys aren't man enough to face the coach then maybe they shouldn't be the overhyped "Superstars "we are supposed to believe we have..

JT accept criticism ?

Who remembers when he called a radio station to 'explain himself' on live radio after being criticised by the panel.

I appreciate he has all the tactics and what ever, but when a coach can't take on board what his captain and players are saying; it's no wonder he got belted by one of his own players.

Was that the reason that he got snotted at their mad Monday, ? ( serious question)

Is it just me? With the interchange dropping next year the natural way Robbie plays will invaluable. His quick runs from the play the ball around tired big men is better than most other number 9s the rules are changing to suit his game and the coach should see that

I'm just trying to get it straight…this happened late in the season yet the Club approached Ayoub after Origin 111(his own admission)...I'm nor sure the timeline then adds up for him getting sacked
