and seems to have a ACE in his sleeve - if or when - the time comes.
ACE is a very very close mate of his.
an ex coach actually.
some of you may remember him from his days at the panthers.

I always appreciate your wise comments, Bobo, but I'm a little surprised to hear Royce "Ace" Simmons would be in contention for the coaching job.

Royce 'I will put out the witches hats while someone looks up the meaning of defense' Simmons

I've missed you bobo…hope you enjoyed the holiday...just a couple of things I question in your synopsis....

1.Is this the same Benny who said ..

Balmain great Benny Elias is the uncle of Mitchell Moses, and he insists his nephew would not only see out his current deal but will be playing in the black and gold for years to come.
“He’s not going anywhere,” Elias declared, adding that he felt no need to remind the youngster of his commitment to the club.
>
“He might have that option, but trust me he’s not going anywhere.
>
“Mitch doesn’t need me in his ear, he’s got a very good manager in Issac Moses, and he’s looking after him like he’s his own son. And they’re on board with what JT and the Tigers are building for, they’re in it for the long haul.”

2\. this so called magical 4 year deal does not exist...Ouote Wests Tigers official Statement...

Farah still has two years left on his contract with the Club, with reports of a new playing contract being offered to him incorrect.
>
“We are looking at a number of options with Robbie, including what role he may play with Wests Tigers once he finishes his playing career,” he said.

I would suggest and just my opinion...The Club is simply covering itself from a full payout...no new contract has been offered..and his existing contract will be honoured until a settlement reasonable to both parties can be reached....It is simply part of the negotiation process...I to notice Farah has not withdrawn his request for a release....

Evening Geo.
Yes its been a while.
mate - im surprised and smiling in awe that this thread is still in full flight.

the the points you raised.
Benny benny benny.
hes a special man.
i learnt a long time ago to take anything he says to the "media" with a grain of salt.
he is a very very astute tactition when it comes to smoke and mirrors.
That said - i am 100% that he will do or say whatever he needs to - to protect his nephew.
see a guy like Benny can still blow his own horn through the accomplishments of his blood.
"hes my nephew"

the 4 year contract.
i agree - misinformation…. more smoke and mirrors .

i completely agree with you that the club is covering itself.
Its always been about chess.
unfortunately in the past - the people running the show werent very good.
Hence my comment that Pascoe has been mentored by phil gould.

and with that said, i am still well and truely of the belief that Pascoe is working for the better of the club.

Here you all again blaming the victim. Robbie did not start the blue, he was till active on the field taking into consideration his age and injuries. He wanted to get 250 games up. They could not have given him a two year contract as Potter wanted due of backending would have been too severe.

They have know for yonks that he is a fiery character esp out on the field battling for WT side. So what did they expect.

I read here somewhere how one of the great coaches (Melbourne team?) would base the game plan around the top three players' games. Somehow JT could not make this all happen.

And as GCT said there was no Plan B with a cashed up reserve to pay him out. The club/team now needs Farah to glue them together again and win games - the only way of the shenanigans. How ironic.

There is no 'blue' - he was given freedom to look for other offers, as probably 25% of the NRL is every year, and decided to make a big deal out of it. That's fine and he's absolutely entitled to fight for his spot - Chris Lawrence has done the same thing.
It's the PR campaign he's waged against the club that irks me and many others.

Your point about Bellamy is completely irrelevant given said three players are Smith, Cronk and Slater - i.e. the axis of both the Qld and Australian teams.

I don't know what you're referring to in the last paragraph. Cash reserves? It's salary cap money that is the issue. Pascoe is simply saying that he isn't going to let Farah go unless the settlement between WT and his prospective new club is a good outcome for WT, which is absolutely the stance we (as fans) need him to take.

How do you get any resemblance to the Lawrence case??

There is major differences.
If Lawrence was told to go now instead of after next season. He may have dug his heels in too.
If Lawrence had been threatened with reserve grade as Farah was. . He may have had a lot more to say about it . No comparison between the two cases

Lawrence was offered the opportunity to find another club for 2016, a la Farah.
Both opted to stay (until now), only one decided to throw mud at the club through the media over a period of months.

The reserve grade threat saw its aggressor leave the club a month ago, so obviously the club agreed that it was out of line.
Meanwhile, Farah & Ayoub's PR campaign trudges on.

Telltails has a point, I've had numerous people text, email, call me from the wests tigers about my re-newing my tickets, people are not happy mate, i'm sure the club has done their numbers and realised it, "crap, we have a problem".
i'm an accountant and i have a law degree, i do compliance reports on behalf of my clients and i can tell you this turn around today by the tigers is financially motivated. they've realised that letting Robbie go is simply not not applicable in these circumstances.

Yep spot on icon

I have 5 mates in Sydney who won't be renewing 3 of them a Family of 4\. One of them told me he emailed them 2 Months ago don't even bother calling Them to renew and they still did and Emailed them that he was a valued Member, talk about desperate.
They didn't think of the repercussions of all this and obviously Management didn't get the message at the support for Farah at the Campbelltown game vs the Warriors.

Glad there out really. **We are better off without them**.

Who is 'we', and how are we better off without them?
He never said they weren't still going to support the tigers - he said they wont be renewing memberships.
That means they won't be paying any money - and I think that was the point.
Unless you mean 'we' as being yourself and the other 'true supporters'. :unamused:

Yes they are the "chosen ones" that have been given the job of deciding Who is worthy of the sacred name of WTs Supporter. They will delve to the depths and fly high to seek, any skerrick of proof that any one of is not a true believer.
They will come for us in the dark of night and carry away any , or all of us , who fail to worship at the feet of the lord high Jason .
Never think that we are safe from these keepers of the sacred light and knowledge.
They are coming for us !!!!! We have to be ready!!!! : :frowning:

Robbie Farah's bid to join a rival club next season after receiving a payout from Wests Tigers has hit a hurdle, with the NRL set to insist that any contract for the NSW Origin hooker be included in the salary cap at market value regardless of how little he is being paid.
Farah has been linked with Sydney Roosters on a deal worth little more than the NRL's minimum wage of $80,000 after requesting a release from Wests Tigers and full payout for the remaining two years of his $1.9 million contract, while other clubs are also believed to have expressed interest in the 32-year-old at such a price. However, Fairfax Media understands the NRL would refuse to register any new contract for Farah that was below what was considered reasonable value for a player of his standing as it would be considered an unfair to the club which signed him.

Unless another club was able to find space in the salary cap to accommodate him, Farah's options would appear to be remaining with the Tigers or heading to Super League to finish his career.

Before Farah lodged his request for a release last Friday night, the Tigers say they were prepared for their former captain to play for them next season after advising him three months ago to look for another club.
Instead, the Tigers had proposed a deal in which Farah would remain at the club next year before leaving to play two seasons in Super League, where he could command a big contract as a former Australian Test star.
On his return in 2019, Farah would take up an off-field role with the club as a Wests Tigers ambassador - a similar position to that performed by Anthony Minichiello for Sydney Roosters or Wendell Sailor for St George Illawarra.
The NRL has no problems with clubs offering ambassadorial roles to star players for life after football but would monitor the deals to ensure they were not paid less during the final years of their playing career or paid excessively for their new jobs in retirement.
For the Tigers, such a deal would not only end an ugly standoff over the future of the joint venture's longest serving player but save the club a huge payout it can ill afford - particularly as Balmain is due to repay loans totalling $4 million to the NRL next March.
If Farah rejects the Tigers offer - as it appears he already has by seeking a release last Friday - and is unable to find another NRL club able to accommodate him under the salary cap, Super League would still be an option as he could be signed under the new marquee player allowance rule.
However, Farah wants to continue playing for NSW and that would be difficult to do from England or France as he would miss up to three weekends of Super League for each of the three State of Origin fixtures.
Farah attended training as usual with the Tigers on Monday and is expected to join teammates for a four-day pre-season camp in Port Stephens later this week.
Meanwhile, the Tigers appear set for a battle to retain five-eighth Mitchell Moses, with seven clubs reported to be interested in him after he and halves partner Luke Brooks were permitted to defer a decision on whether to take up an option in their contracts enabling them to extend the deals beyond 2016.Moses and Brooks were with Farah last Friday night at the Hunters Hill Hotel as the Blues vice-captain's agent Sam Ayoub notified the Tigers of his request for a release, and there is speculation they are concerned with what is happening at the club, although both are said to be close to their teammates and want to stay.
