The Ex-Tiger Watch.

I think Moses has been great so far in defence and he could very well be a gun player but Austin is already a quality player. I'm spewing we let him go.

What a great first half Blake Austin is having today ….leading by example ..scoring a try , setting one up and putting his body on the line to save one .

.
Good move keeping turnstile Moses and getting rid of Austin

Turnstyle Moses?

You haven't watched a game this year? Moses is defending as good as any backrower and would be rated close to the best defending 5/8 so far this year.

Austin seems to be carrying Canberra at the moment. Good luck to him.

Moses averaging 5 missed tackles per game and zero try assists would put him right up there with the best 5/8's for sure his not in Austin's league

"1\. Blake Austin is an early contender for buy of the season.
The Tigers played hard ball late last year when the Raiders came knocking for the Doonside product and based on today’s performance it’s not hard to understand why. Austin has one of the best running games in the competition, this was especially evident during the first half where his decision to take the line on yielded two tries, one to himself and another to Jarrad Kennedy. Austin also stood up in defence saving two certain tries. Come to think of it, all of Canberra’s new recruits (Hodgson, Williams, Soliola and Waqa) fired today."

Ok 3 things here Fumbles.

1.Moses' attack has nothing to do with me commenting on your "turnstyle" remark, so that's irrelevant.

2.comparing him to Austin has nothing to do with me commenting on your "turnstyle" remark.
and
3.so your a stat man. You keep letting stats make the judgement on a player mate and see how far that gets u.

I can think of 2 guys off the top of my head who'd be contenders for buy of the yr ahead of Austin. Brett Morris and Ryan Hoffman.

Austin is alright, but he's a very selfish player, i don't like that. He's better suited to the centres.

We should never have let Austin go. He still had a year with us. That is just poor management.

Moses has shown nothing to get excited about so far and we can't afford to keep carrying him so he gets experience

Austin wont be buy of the year but he is shaping as loss of the year.

Very happy to have Moses ahead of Austin. I was a big Blake fan when he came to the club and still like him but Moses has far bigger upside.

I suspect there will be a few people eating hunble pie by the end of this season/mid next season.

Blakes a good creative player at times, lacks speed but he has a crack….I dont think he'll play rep footy, but Moses might

Yep agree with this.

Blake is a very solid player.

Moses has star poential!

Austin - man of the match
Takairangi - eels sign for 2 more years
Koro - killing it
These should have been retained !

Austin will be a great 5/8 for any team as long as hes paired with a halfback with a good kicking game

Re letting Austin go; In my opinion it is always a mistake to retain someone that really wants to leave, as Austin did. Like others, I was happy to see him in Tigers colours but he didn't want to be here. Time to let him go with no regrets.

Koro being a "loss" is a huge myth - much like Fifta being a "loss"

He was unhappy at the Tigers, unmotivated, and was never going to get back into first grade on his at the time current attitude, and effort. I'd only consider him a loss if we lost him playing in his current form.

UD,I agree with your sentiments….no good keeping someone if they don't put in or don't want to be there, may as well give someone a go who at least will do their best..

Agree with all those who said "no good keeping those who didn't want to stay"

That refers to "Mr. Hog" Austin, Mr. Can't read the play" Koro and Mr. how many penalties can I give away" Fifita.

Takairangi was never signed to the club in the first place.

The new story is… we are looking ahead and not to the past.

Mitchell Moses, Delouise Hoeter and Matthew Lodge are much better prospects looking forward. There's also a heap more in the wings.

Beside all that if you are talking about Austin in the halfback role - I think Drinkwater is a better half and he can't get in because of a better prospect in Brooks.

Players that want to play for you, will always be better than players who don't.
