you miss the point vicious, kids in cambo associate themselves with that Balmain lot these days.
Juniors coming through now would have no memory of the Magpies and thus have no association with them, all they care about is playing for the Tigers. Merging state cup would exacerbate this.
THIS would be the argument that some Wests guys would be putting forward, saying that keeping the magpies logo alive via Canberra is better than killing it for good. This argument is also flawed and was no doubt hatched on the pokie room floor of Wests Campbelltown between two geezer downing a pony of Victor Bravo.
Balmain is alive…
The Magpies are alive...
...and last time i checked they were one point shy of a grand final.
Confusion and selfishness shouldn't rule the day and this proposal should be torpedoed ASAP, otherwise Wests should give up their claim to Campbelltown.
I don`t think I am missing the point. YES the Wests Magpies and Balmain Tigers are now a fading memory, that`s not what i`m talking about.
By having the Wests Magpies alive in Premier League it atleast gives the Wests Tigers representation once every two weeks in the Campbelltown region. Now i`m not worried about crowds, we all know that not too many people are interested in watching Premier League, i`m talking about the fact that the Wests Magpies playing regularly out of Campbelltown ensures that the young juniors of the Campbelltown region know that the Wests Tigers are truly their local side.
Take this away from them and watch how many youngsters from the Campbelltown region jump ship. Why should they show any loyalty if the Wests Tigers don`t want any senior side playing regularly out of the region ???
I`m not from the Campbelltown region, never have been from the Campbelltown region, but it makes no sense to me to deprive senior level football in such a growing region ???
