Agree. Thought he would make a perfect lock allowing Twal back in prop rotation.

Why do I think Griswolds when a WT recruiting road trip is suggested

Have to say with the benefit of hindsight that we should not have let Corey Thompson go, He always played well on the wing and had utility value in being able to play fullback. I know he is small compared to many others but he had heart and never gave up, I'd have rather let Mbye go. Value for money we got from Thompson, certainly not Mbye.

Kepaoa was his replacement, who is taller, faster and more of a prospect. while Thompson has plenty of heart and will always look back fondly on his time in a Wests jersey we made the right call to let him chase a longer deal on more money so we could swap him for a youthful kid with plenty of upside.

Thompson. Not the worst, the kind of winger who will get you into 9th.

Fingers definitely crossed one of their priorities is a contract for Sam.

What you have not latched onto Chief is the fact that NOBODY wants Mbye. Not even us.

Problem is he is like chewing gum on your shoe - very hard to get rid of.

Yep, our recruitment of the fab 4 (Matulino, Packer, Reynolds and Mbye) seem to be one of the best own goals any league team I can think of has scored against themselves. Panic buying without due diligence and thought.

Sam has not spoke to anybody, so those boys were definitely not up here.
If he is a priority the club is not showing it in his contract offer.
So does anybody body here think 100k is a reasonable offer!
The development boys are close to that
He said it's quite insulting really!

Disappointing to hear and you wouldn't blame the bloke for going elsewhere if he's being offered more. I think he's worth a bit more than 100k per year, surely the WT can muster up another 30-40k per year for him.

100k is an insult not an offer.Very disappointing if that is all we are offering

Handful of games, headknocks starting to become a worry... yes, he bled for the cause but so did Teddy, Moses and Fats! Take it or leave it son - could be exactly the type of player we need and obviously rates coach.

Somewhat cautious believing rumours that he wouldn't be happy making 3-figures

Its too low and 150-175k would be about right. But at the same time I imagine the club has said something like we can only offer you 100k at the moment but we're working on done deals to free up some space but we value you a lot so hang tight and we'll get back to you.

Players at his end of the cap can always find a club, even late in pre season.

If Garner goes to Manly it may resolve itself. But it would be a huge loss considering Leilua, Packer and Reynolds could all depart with no weakening of the team. Actually it would strenghten WTs.

James Tedesco’s deal with the Roosters has been delayed until after the season due to reports of some pretty extreme demands from the superstar fullback.

The Daily Telegraph reported in September that Tedesco had all but locked up a five-year $6 million contract to finish his career at the Tri-colours, but negotiations have stalled.

Brent Read told Triple M that the length of the deal is a point of conjecture, with the Roosters keen for a three-year deal, while Tedesco’s camp wants more.

Things might change after last night.
