Funny these ‘issues’ have only ever been assumed here because of the way he’s carried himself….
He certainly made no mention of them on his reason for leaving.

Sometimes Stupid people do and say stupid things
- doesn’t always need to be a reason…
Ok mate ! That’s revisionist history , at best . It was pretty well known he has been going through it . But if you want to question it just to prove your point / do the necessary mental gymnastics to justify your position . Go for it .
I wish I lived the lives some of you live . It must be glorious in your ivory tower looking down at the plebs …..

What are you talking about mate ? From what I can tell , he’s had/has real mental health issues , and the shift across the ditch has not helped things . If he’s back here , it means his career is over , or he’s been given time away to sort his shit out .
Sure he said some stupid shit , but if the club is fair dinkum about looking after thier players , both current and historical , despite his shenanigans, this is when you need to turn up and help the guy.
They had to get him away from the playing group because of his toxicity . But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on the guy . Even if he’s been acting the fool lately .
He is no longer our problem - and refused help when it was offered!

Did the club look after Taniela after his PHYSICAL injury?

Nothing I said in my post was incorrect!
He was definitely at the game, he walked straight into me.
Blinkered idiot he is!

Stop making up shit!

He was beyond toxic and refused help from the club's dedicated welfare people....

Yep - his mental problems have only ever been very low IQ and huge ego!!

And he has banked roughly $450K this year - as "piss off don't come back" money from TWO teams on opposite sides of the globe!

These bleeding hearts need to spare their tears for someone more deserving of sympathy!

You are angry. Surely you could be passionate about something that got you less riled up? Can't be good for your health.

Don't like incompetent wage thieves!

Keep supporting ex-failures Champ!
How many tries have you scored in the NRL? You have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. Have you stopped to consider maybe he doesn't want to open up about his issues? You just go on these rants not because you dislike the person but because we have experienced so much failure. Maybe step aside and take time away from the game, but this is just me being an armchair psychologist, do as you please sir.

Well known by who, where?
When was it discussed?

Only thing I’ve seen ever seen discussed or reported about his health outside of the sympathisers here was his fitness….

You are one angry person. Surely you could be passionate about something that got you less riled up? Can't be good for your health.
I'm angry about those here who are so sympathetic for a bloke who earned above his ability - and wasted his career due to hubris - but still cashed in on his terminated contracts...

Same people who would not give a shit about anyone anonymous who genuinely struggle with mental health - poverty and homelessness - WITHOUT all the leg-ups - preferential treatment - and capacity to be better if they were prepared to put in the work like David!

So-called "mentors" like Lee and Justin have only ingrained and facilitated his dependency issues - and never called him out until Benji did this year!

He is not a charity case - and you don't have to look far in this world right now to find people who are far more deserving of the fake tears and faux empathy than this guy just because you liked him as a player!

More needs to be done regarding player welfare post retirement. I was reading an article about John Sutton yesterday, he struggled a lot and experienced bad depression in the years following his retirement. He definitely would not be alone. When your identity is an NRL player it's hard to transition to the next phase of your life.
That whole diatribe is the definition of straw man ! How do you know what people will and wouldn’t advocate for .
He gets the help because at the end of the day , he did even for a brief moment , at some point provide joy for me and family . Sure he had an attitude problem , but he did a service for the club and as such is given the same resources as any other ex player .
The hypocrisy and mental gymnastics to justify your argument is ridiculous!
You can’t claim lack of empathy as an argument point , by showing a lack of empathy ! LOL ! You’re either empathetic or you’re not !
You do realise it undermines your whole position and reveals it for what it is ……
“Fanatic is angry that ex player left the club in a really bad way , and played poorly for a few years”
The rest is horseshit ! The only person who lacks empathy is yourself .
And any reference to mental health and its affect in the community is offensive . No one is even talking about that . It’s irrelevant and a deliberate ploy to shift the goal posts .
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again .
Fanatic sports fans , of which we get pages on here to use as reference points are a case study for larger issues in the world , and the whole “my truth is the truth” .
Just for reference , I’ve had people who I absolutely despised , come out later and admit they were going through it at the time . Completely helping shape the way I viewed them , and not jumping DT shadows at others in the future .
And finally just since we are chucking facts out there , most people are incapable of showing empathy outside of the 100-200 people that they have around them at any given time .
It doesn’t mean they’re a piece of shit . It’s a product of evolution and tribalism . So stop with the straw man bullshit because you’re actually the one who lacks empathy , and your trying to justify it with horseshit …

Different management ! Are you serious right now . You know who else didn’t get looked after , KErRy HeLmslEy !
You’ve literally lost the plot ! The whole reason they’re looking after Nofa is because of the shit job they did with Taniela and the old boys .
You’re clutching at straws proving my whole point . You’re making shit up because your butt hurt in the way he left the club , and the bad performances he put in .
And by the way , no one is justifying that . It was disgraceful , and he should be ashamed of himself .
But if he winds up hanging from is garage roof , because he couldn’t deal with his sharp decline in both form and mental health , and the whole arrogance and ego that propels elite sportsman also almost always is the thing that undoes them . Ie. they can’t transition to be a bit player/ club man . then is not the clubs responsibility to have a duty of care around that ?
Even if it’s just allowing him to come to LO and watch the boys run around .
You seem really young, It’s not weak to be able to forgive . Especially with how spectacularly and obviously Nofa has failed himself .

You’re either really young , or really emotionally immature . It’s not weak to be able to forgive . Especially with how spectacularly and obviously Nofa has failed himself .
Kerry Hemsley - WTF are you on about?

He retired in 88 not due to any injury or mental health issues - and is still at Leichhardt every game!

I have known Kerry well since the 80s....

Nofa got a golden handshake he did not deserve - shat on the club and Benji to the media and RLPA - and then got sacked by Salford after 2 shockers!

I don't need to forgive him for anything - he needs to piss off into the distance...
