Don't get me started on moltzen. The mope spent half his playing career injured, playing nsw cup, or getting injured in nsw cup. Meanwhile collection every cent of his inflated backended contract. If he actually cared about the mope would of pissed off when he wasn't wanted years ago. Then the mope finally speaks up when his off to manly after his collected ever cent of his back ended inflated contract he banked by being injured, playing reserve grade or getting injured in reserve grade.

Sorry to ruin your rant, but it was also this club that offered the contract to him, NOT the other way around. He was legally entitled to be paid, no matter what you or anyone else mat think.
The events of this week should show how much consideration that the club gives to our long term players, absolutely nothing.
I might add that his injuries were received while playing for this club.
Also the reason that he didn't piss off was that the club begged him to stay.
Blame them if you want someone to rant on.

If there was one player you'd pick last to be told to go it would be Farah.
Only just saw this and can barely believe it.
For mine this is a bit complex, with positive and negative aspects, but I think best for both parties. My thoughts:
- how did this news get out? It could be the tigers told him in confidence and it got out? If so they have only made a tough decision with the big picture in mind, if not, I see it as incredibly disrespectful to an absolute icon of the club.
- two years left on his contract? What does a contract mean these days?!
- who is the real trouble? Farah or Taylor? Both have had disruptive influence on clubs over the years, so on the surface hard to know if Farah is too big for his boots or Taylor can't handle a strong personality in his team?
- I've thought Farah had a tendency to be a very selfish player over his career and still get annoyed the captain of a team would write SOO in huge letters on the taping he wore during a tigers game. Still, lodge wrote worse I guess… :wink:
I agree his focus on SOO annoyed me - such as stating it was the "pinnacle of the game" to win a series. Pretty sure I remember who disagreed with me on that...but I think a premiership is.
Yes he did move heaven and earth to play for NSW, but in all fairness he always did for the tigers as well. (Not cynical enough to find how many games he's missed before and after origin).
- I recanted this aforementioned criticism after hearing his role in keeping Tedesco at the club last year. This year alone has shown how important a player Tedesco is.
- I think Cherrington is really good and really like when he's playing.
- getting good money for him while they can could be seen as selling at the right time. Only time will tell that though.
- I actually respected him for how he played the first half of this season: to me he took a step back for the good of the team. Tbh I thought he was lucky to retain the blue jersey because of it.
- I think it's a step to shore up the players of the future and at the same time improve the financial aspect, albeit minor in the grand scheme.

So, positives and negatives but without sitting on the fence I think a smart move by the club.
In any case, you can't get any lower than last so what have they got to lose?!!

Very large, very successful clubs have made decisions like this and have surprised by coping well after (Man United particularly come to mind). Kind of like TV shows killing off main characters (*no spoilers here! :wink: )…

It's a shame when things like this happen when from all accounts he could've gone to parramatta a couple of years ago. It's a shame, but that's life.

I'm not debating the legality of his contract. But if we are talking about the best interest of the club both players should leave. Moltzen played the last two seasons in reserve grade if he was wanted anywhere else he would if left. Farah in the same position now it seems.

Lets not forget both players can pretty much thank the wests tigers for everything they have financially right now.

Just watched NRL 360 . Taylor and Farah's relationship was reported to be untenable .
Paul Kent also said Farah wasn't part of JT's plan in moving forward and that Farah doesn't sit well with his team mates .

As for Taylor's interview he's a Tool .
I hope Taylor is moved on sooner than later !

That's right Hobbo I watched it as well, the point being its not all about the salary cap but other issues as well being the break down in player coach relationship, Robbie not getting on with some other players so it's more than salary cap.

What ? You didn't expect the spin factory that is our Coach and Board to drop stories to the media to sanitize their actions . We should have learned by now that the BS that comes from the so calked leadership in this club is waist deep.
Like Taylor and his multitude of crap , the board are knee deep in it at the moment too

I did backflips thinking all of my Christmases had come at once when Benji walked, and while I'm not as happy as that today I believe it's a good decision for WT. I can't see Robbie making much of a difference for us next year and if this move puts us in a better position to go to the market for a big 2017 then I'm all for it.

I am concerned about the capability of our management team. I would release Farah tomorrow if we could save $900k in the salary cap given our position this is not up for debate.
The issue is we sent out Taylor who looked like a complete muppet to repeat 'The Club's Position is to allow Farah to negotiate next year' to every question reporters were asking. We have no GM to handle this. Where was the Chairwoman. Why release a statement when you become aware Bulldog Ritchie had the story? I hope farah plays NSW cup and collects $2m from the Tigers.

Our team from board level down is a complete and utter farce and completely incompetent.

Taylor is a failed coach and is proving a complete disaster and fake. Probably put a positive spin after collecting the wooden spoon. Farah did well not to turn Faalago after being baited in a disgraceful fashion 'You Will Play Reserve Grade' The coach should be dismissed for this its bad form.

For the record I support farah being moved on in a more respectful fashion.

Robbie was impressive with his professionalism and acceptance in his interview this morning.
Although unhappy, he could see the reasons why this decision was made, and he will attempt to roll with it.
He also expressed a strong desire to win the final 2 matches in which he would play.
I think that might reflect that he thinks there is some sense from management regarding this decision.
I think the chances of him doing well wherever he goes are pretty high, thanks mate, u are a champion

Jeez Littletiger, how ridiculous can you get?
Farahs given to WTs for over 10 years, and stayed when he could taken the better money on offer. He owes nothing, in fact some of the money he's owed is for games that have been played earlier in his contract, not just for the next two years.
Hes given more back to the club than most have, and carried the club for a lot of those years. It will be a long time before we see another player give anything like the service
That Robbie has.
Why don't you donate your next two years pay to the club, as clearly that's what you believe that Robbie and Moltzen should do.
Or better yet we should stop giving contracts at all , and then the coach can come in at any time and tell any of his players that they will be in reserve grade next week if they don't want to go
Try living in reality, people have contracts so they can't be shafted , as a lot of clubs would do if they could get away with it.
Anyway I'll be looking forward to the breaking news thatlittletiger has donated his next two years pay to the west Tigers Boardmembers Christmas party.
